The New York Police Department is looking to question “Blade Runner 2049” actress Sean Young about a burglary she’s alleged to have taken part in, according to TMZ.
Young was reported to have been caught on surveillance cameras boosting laptop computers and “video production software.”
TMZ and the Daily News reported cops were called to “commercial location in Astoria, Queens Thursday for a burglary.”
It was reported “employees at the location turned surveillance footage over to cops that allegedly showed Young and another male breaking in” and allegedly taking off with, TMZ reported, “two Apple laptops and video production software, worth about $12,000.”
It’s reported Young, 58, allegedly worked at the location where the theft occurred but was “fired months ago.”
Young, the ‘replicant’ in “Blade Runner,” has a storied and rocky past beginning with her relationship with actor James Woods wherin Woods said Young sent him bizarre photos and filed a harassment lawsuit against her. She appeared on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” for alcohol and drug addiction, and six years ago, crashed an Oscar party and assaulted a security officer.
Here’s what you need to know about Sean Young:
1. Young Began Her Career as a Dancer Then Landed a Role in a Merchant-Ivory Film

Mary Sean Young was born in Louisville, Ky., but grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Her parents were Donald Young, Jr., a television producer and journalist, and mom Lee Guthrie, a screenwriter and journalist. Young was reported to have been an outsider but provocative. It was reported in 1989 that Young, a drama and dance student once performed a dance recital in a see-though leotard stunning fellow dancers and the audience.
After graduating from Cleveland Heights High School, she attended the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan and the School of American Ballet in New York. She worked as a model and a dancer in New York but in 1980, landed a role in the Merchant-Ivory film “Jane Austen in Manhattan.” Working for James Merchant and Ivory helped launch her career.
2. Young Had a Decades-Long Movie Career in Huge Hits Like ‘Blade Runner,’ ‘Wall Street’ & ‘No Way Out’
Young wrote her own IMDb biography and while the filmography is correct, she does provide some details about roles that the public records disputes and over the course of her decades-long career, Young was known to be a “difficult talent.” Still, she had some amazing gigs.
Young appeared in the popular Bill MUrray movie “Stripes,” the Garry Marshall film “Young Doctors in Love,” David Lynch’s “Dune,” and then Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner” in ’82 for which she is well and widely known. Young was cast in “Wall Street” by Oliver Stone where it was reported she was so annoying Stone “wrapped her scene early and had her dropped off at the bus station.”
But it was the sexy “No Way Out” with Kevin Costner in 1987 where the two had a “famous steamy scene in the backseat of a limousine,” that she wrote gave her “star status.”
Here’s where it gets weird. Young claims in her bio that she was cast as Vicky Vale in Batman but suffered an accident and lost the role to Kim Basinger. Young wrote about herself int he third person saying the movie “turned out to be the biggest hit of 1989 …(but) Young put on a brave face and gamely moved on…” An Entertainment Weekly report at the time said after breaking her arm on the “Batman” set and as “Warner Bros. was putting together the 1992 sequel, she stormed the studio lot wearing a homemade Catwoman suit in a disastrously ill-conceived bid to be considered for the role in Batman Returns. She became, and remains, a crazy-bitch punchline to the powers that be.”

Young switch from drama to comedy and starred in Car Reiner’s spoof “Fatal Instinct” and then was featured in the huge Jim Carrey hit “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” in 1994.
After it’s been B-movies, cable TV and other work for Young until 2017 when she appeared in “Blade Runner 2049” where she played the original Rachel with old footage and CGI to make her appear younger. She also has a body double.
3. Young & Actor James Woods’ Relationship While Filming ‘The Boost’ Led to a Lawsuit That Alleged Young Exhibited Grisly & Disturbing Behaviors
In 1989, while working on the movie “The Boost,” Woods alleged that Young, who claimed to have had a romantic relationship with Woods, sent him and his fiancée photos of dead bodies and dead animal parts and, he claimed in a lawsuit against her for harassment, a “mutilated doll at his door—apparently a macabre reminder of his fiancée’s abortion. The doll’s neck had been cut and iodine splashed on its chest to simulate blood. White makeup was caked on the face to make it resemble a corpse,” People magazine reported at the time. Woods filed a lawsuit where he claimed that Young was targeting he and girlfriend Sarah Owen with grisly pictures of “deceased persons, dead animals, gore, mutilation and other images specifically designed to cause Woods and Owen…great emotional distress.” Woods charged that Young knew Owen had had an abortion and used that to threaten and harass the couple.
People reported Young denied it all and said, “I got along great with Jimmy when we were making The Boost.” She was reported to have said that she was involved with another actor and that Woods’ accusations were questionable: “But when someone like Kevin Costner or Jimmy are doing romantic work, they get agitated, if you know what I mean, and they go home and their agitation is noticeable.”
The real story is that when the two were on set for “The Boost,” about a coked-out couple, as reported by People, “When they first met, she told him, ‘Don’t be surprised if you’re in love with me by the end of this film,” a screenwriter was quoted as saying, to which Woods allegedly “…kidded, “‘…You’ll be lucky if I don’t murder you.’” But it was “common knowledge” that Young and Woods were having an affair but it didn’t last long. Woods ended the romance as he was involved with Owen and the talk was Young was not happy, People reported.
“She got snippy” when Owen, a 25-year-old who worked as a horse trainer, visited the movie set.
Ultimately the lawsuit was settled out of court.
4. Young Opened up About Her Drug & Alcohol Addiction While Appearing on VH1’s ‘Celebrity Rehab’ With Dr. Drew. She Also Spoke Out About Harvey Weinstein & Alleged He ‘Pulled His Thing Out’
The reality TV show “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” chronicled the substance abuse treatment journeys of celebrities at the Pasadena Recovery Center in Pasadena, California. Young appeared in the fifth season in 2011.
Young talked about her addiction and alcoholism but to also share her side of her Hollywood story. She claimed she was humiliated and suffered from depression and was living “a mountain of pain.”
Young was profiled in a short video made by life coach Lauren Zander that shows Young “purging her house of items that are destructive to her sense of well-being will profoundly change her outlook.” She is not on board.
Young’s appearance on David Letterman in was widely seen and mocked and the video on YouTube has almost 200,000 views. She said she horse-whipped her teenage boys.
Young said in 1992, when making a Weinstein Miramax film “Love Crimes,” the mogul alleged he exposed himself to her. She told him, “Ya know, Harvey, I wouldn’t pull that thing out because it’s really not pretty.” She never worked on another Miramax film again. Weinstein told Frontline her account was “untrue.”
5. Young Was Arrested For Crashing an Oscars Party in 2012
In 2012, Young was arrested after allegedly getting physical with a security guard who denied her entrance into the Governor’s Ball after-Oscars party. Young was arrested by Hollywood police, charged with misdemeanor battery and released on $20,000 bond.

Young had crashed a Vanity Fair Oscar’s after party in 2006 and was thrown out and in 2008 she was also asked to leave the Directors Guild of America awards after she exhibited “erratic behavior.”
