Sean Patrick Flanery is an American actor, author, and martial artist best known for portraying the role of Indiana Jones in the TV series ‘The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles’. Ruggedly handsome with chiseled features and blue eyes, he landed notable roles in many small and big screen projects. Raised in Sugar Land, Texas, he attended St. Thomas Houston University where he took part in acting classes in order to impress a girl in the program. He fell in love with acting and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting as a career. He worked there as a waiter until he found an agent. After eight months of waiting, he got a job in a television commercial after which things moved really quickly for him. In his acting career which has spanned over three decades, he has worked in over 50 movies after making his debut in 1987 with ‘A Tiger's Tale’. His TV debut was in the TV film named ‘Just Perfect’. He also teaches ‘Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’ in which he holds a ‘black belt’. He married ‘Playboy’ model cum actress Lauren Michelle Hill in 2009 and has two sons. He also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

Career
After developing a love for acting during his university days, Sean Patrick Flanery packed his bags and moved to Los Angeles to actually pursue it as a career. He wrote a piece for children's theater and planned to produce the play, but things didn’t go as planned, and he started waiting tables there. While working as waiter in LA, he was approached by an agent who offered him his first acting job in a television commercial. He starred in ‘Kellog's Corn Pops’ commercial alongside Paul Walker in his first paid acting work. Following more appearances in national commercials, he landed roles in many TV series and films.
He made his film debut in 1987 in ‘A Tiger's Tale’ followed by roles in the television films ‘Just Perfect’ and ‘My Life as a Babysitter’ in 1990. He portrayed the role of Indiana Jones in the ABC television series ‘The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles’ from 1992 to 1993, for which he gained much recognition. In 1995, he returned to the big screen with roles in ‘The Grass Harp’ and ‘Powder’. He is also known for his role of Connor MacManus in the 1999 movie ‘The Boondock Saints’. He then went on to appear in many films including ‘Simply Irresistible’ (1999), ‘D-Tox’ (2002), ‘The Insatiable’ (2006) and ‘Saw 3D’ (2010).
On television, he appeared in the ‘Stargate SG-1’ episode ‘Ascension’ as Orlin in 2001. He portrayed the role of the vice president, Greg Stillson in the TV Show ‘Stephen King's Dead Zone’ from 2002 to 2007 until its cancellation. After making appearances in ‘Savage Planet’ (2006), ‘Criminal Minds’ (2009) and ‘Mongolian Death Worm’ (2010), he had appeared in ‘Howlin' For You’ – a music video by the group The Black Keys, which was released on February 10, 2011. The same year, he played the role of Sam Gibson in the CBS soap ‘The Young and the Restless’. In 2016, he published his first book titled ‘Jane Two,’ which was a coming-of-age story inspired from his own childhood and early life experiences. He has a black belt in ‘Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’ which he also teaches.

Sean Patrick Flanery was born on October 11, 1965, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA to Genie (née LeDoux) and Paul Flanery. His mother is a real estate agent and his father is a salesman of medical equipment. He was raised in Houston, Texas. He belongs to Irish, Cajun (French), and English ancestry. He attended Awty International School and graduated in 1984 from John Foster Dulles High School, Sugar Land, Fort Bend County, Texas.
He attended the University of St. Thomas, Houston to study for a business degree. At that time, he developed a crush on a girl attending the university's theater department and sign up for acting classes in order to woo her. Though his infatuation with the girl ended soon, he fell deeply in love with acting and decided to pursue it as his career.
He started dating ‘Playboy’ model and actress Lauren Michelle in 2008. They tied the knot in 2009. The couple has two sons named Charlie Flanery and Porter Flanery. He also has a daughter named Lola Flanery from his previous relationship with Sacha Grierson.
He won the ‘Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race’ in 1997 as a celebrity driver at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Due to the ‘Alfonso Ribeiro rule’, he was forced to defend his title under the TGPLB rules and won the race in 1998 as a professional driver. He is a triathlete with a black belt in ‘Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’.
