Life's Reflections

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. ~Ecclesiastes 3:1

Sean Donell Harris departed this life peacefully at home in Columbia, MD. He was born on February 4, 1969 in Washington, DC to the late Reginald Harris and Mary Harris Trice. He was the only child of this union. At an early age, Sean professed his love for the Lord and he became a student of the Word of God. It was often thought ""Here comes the preacher"", as he would cover Genesis to Revelation as he shared, questioned, quizzed, and spread the Word of God.

Sean received his education in Washington, DC where he graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School. Upon graduation, he attended Lincoln University in Southern Chester County PA, where he studied Architecture and Design. Sean's early career was spent in law enforcement with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF). After 17 years at the Bureau, Sean sought to pursue his entrepreneurial spirit. His love for creating and building led him to begin his second career as an Independent Contractor and Project Manager Specialist. Sean was a dedicated man; a hard worker and perfectionist in his craft of construction and in every project he touched. He was affectionately known by friends and neighbors as ""Lil Fred"" because, just like his grandfather Fred, he could fix whatever you needed. We also know him as ""Mr. Gadget"" since there was not a tool Sean did not have or plan to purchase. During his career as a contractor, Sean often had to work in the outdoor elements, in competition with nature, and with what he liked least of all, ""bugs"" - especially spiders.

Sean was passionate about many things and he equally embraced his first loves of music and cooking. Sean's love for cooking and serving delicious meals were another form of music which had a melodic harmony of its own; they were his way of saying ""I love you"". Whether cooked on the grill or in the deep fryer, marinated and placed in the smoker, steamed and boiled on the stove or mixed together as special salad, one could always, always, taste the love.

Music was the epitome of both Sean's soul and spirit. He became the notes and lyrics of the song that he sang in harmony, knowing each and every word no matter what the genre or how old the song. As a music enthusiast, Sean spent countless hours in the basement – his Man Cave- downloading music; creating his masterpiece as he assembled ""millions"" of songs as part of his music empire collection. Sean frequently and graciously made playlists for friends and family.

Sean was not just smart and creative but he was brilliant. The avid geek, he enjoyed building computers and surfing the internet to enhance his knowledge of the latest and greatest trends in technology and construction. A master conversationalist, Sean could speak on any and every topic and he enjoyed having lively discussions about the subject at hand.

Sean's heart of gold, infectious laughter, engaging spirit, and ""Nuggets of Wisdom"" gave you hope that there would always be a better tomorrow!!! He was well known for his generous gift of sharing. You often heard him bellow ""Heeey Playboy"" as Sean lovingly referred to ""his boys"".

Sean's footprints are not only left on our minds but in our hearts. God called his faithful servant home to his new life of eternal rest on Wednesday May 13, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted mother Mary Harris Trice, sister/cousin Darlene Cash, step-mother Donna Harris, sister Ashley Harris, brother Jason Harris, aunts: Jeraline Fennell (James), Dorothy Murphy Manning (Martin), Deborah McCree (Richard), Cora Harriston (Kenneth), Mercedes Bartley (Richard), his partner in love and life Letitia Franklin, brother for life Ross Allen and a host of cousins, other relatives and many, many, friends.

I miss you sooooo much!

Words can't express how I felt when I heard that my friend is no longer here. My condolences go out to his Mother, family and friends. I met Sean at ATF, he agreed to mentor a couple young men that participated in the student programs. I asked him because, I knew that he would give the encouragement and guidance necessary for our young men to be successful in that experience. That professional partnership blossomed into a friendship that I will always treasure.

Rest in Peace my...

Sean was a true gentleman; I loved working with him whenever I had the chance. May he rest in peace in God's eternal light.

Head pounding; eyes filled with tears,
Breathing is hard; mouth is silent,
Heart is broken; hands clasped,
Knees are week; feet can't move and
Then in the wind, there is a whisper, There is eternal life. Peace be unto you.

I will always remember Sean as being a REAL down-to-earth, very likable guy whos personality and spirit you would never ever forget! I will miss you my friend. Rest in Paradise Bruh.

Mary. My heart breaks for you for the loss of your son, Sean. As A parent we are not suppose to outlive our children. Sean was one of the nicest young men that I had the pleasure of meeting while we worked at ATF.

I pray the the gentle soul of Sean through the mercy of God, rest In Peace. Amen

A few years ago, Sean received a call that my son, Michael Lyon Jr., a friend of his, was at home having trouble communicating over the telephone. Sean rush to the scene, smashed open the door, checked on Mike and called 911. Mike was having a stroke and Sean's actions saved my son's life. May God bless my hero's family and may he rest in peace.
