The area
Address
Neighborhood: Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.

Unless you have small kids this will take 45 minutes at most
Prices are quite punchy and it’s very much for small kids. We went and quickly realised this isn’t for older kids / adults. It’s not near anything else and, whilst we enjoyed some of the less hands on exhibits, probably not worth travelling to as a destination in itself.

    New use for Expo Centre
I enjoyed my visit to Science World. It was nice to see the Expo '86 grounds put to good use. They had a temporary exhibit "Challenging the Deep" about Canadian James Cameron's deep underwater explorations. That exhibit featured both artifacts as well as short films about his exploration. (It was especially poignant as I viewed the exhibit shortly after the submersible disaster in which five people lost their lives exploring the remains of the Titanic.) Most of the permanent exhibits are hands on. These exhibits and the live science demonstrations are aimed at a younger audience. But adults can find things to explore as well.

    An experience
It is always an experience visiting a science building and Science World is no exception. We first saw it from the aquabus we took to visit Granville Island. Then we visited Science World on the return trip. Great for families.

    Exceptional service
I go to science world in Vancouver at least once a week and I always have amazing service but today, I received exceptional service from Mila. My granddaughter lost her very precious bunny and the lost and found desk was closed. I was running around looking for it and Mila was in the beaver room and I asked her if anyone handed in a bunny and she said no. She told me about the lost and found Downstairs and I told her it was closed. She went out of her way to help me and she checked the list and found for me. We couldn’t find it but she was so amazing with me and my granddaughter. Thank you Mila for giving exceptional service. From a very impressed nana. Patty

Great place for kids and adults
I had visited Science center with my daughter on a winter day. The place is very comfortable inside with paid storage lockers to keep your belongings. Kids of age 8 & above can easily spend full day at this place. There are so many things to do and learn. There are somewhat very less activities for little children.

    Great activities-Lunch Room was Quiet
Went with my family with two kids, 7 and 3. They had a blast. There were activities for both kids. I don’t think we saw everything within our 4-5 hours stay. There is a food for sale on the 2nd floor but nothing too health for the kids. We brought our own food and found a lunch room tucked away on the main floor. It was clean and quiet away from the main area. Overall, it was a great day.

    Science World Excitement
Science World has an interesting mix of science. There are many interesting exhibits. We visited with our young nephews and nieces and they really enjoyed it. It is obviously a small city exhibit. Enjoy it for what it is. A good rainy day attraction.

In the top of science world there is a big screen where you can watch various movies throughout the day. It is roughly $12 for a ticket (no tax & check website) and you don't need to buy additional entry to science world for this experience but you can if you want and I think this gives you some discount.

We went to see the one about natures world and being wild and free. It was cool to see the animals on the big screen and the film lasted about 45mins. Good rainy day experience.

Our False Creek Ferry stop here was an unexpected delight. Not really knowing what to expect, this was therefore an area we have neglected to explore in the past. Glad we did this time!

The outdoor displays were so imaginative and instructive. The giant dinosaur made out of construction debris is incredible. And the interactive water display entertained children of all ages. Curiosity knows no bounds. One display shows how the layers of bedrock, etc. would now be transformed with the advent of our discards.

The sheer beauty of the sphere adds so much to the False Creek views. Loved it!

There are a couple of parks around the central building at Science World; one is large enough for festivals (like one in progress) and another more refined and confined.

This is an ok science Center. It’s small but the interactive exhibits mostly work and the Center overall was clean and in good condition. Compared to other science Centers it is overpriced for its size and amount of exhibits. Parking is also limited but we found a nearby garage with pay parking spots available.

The first time we went to science world, we found it interesting, so when we saw that they had changed up themes. We decided to go check it out again. Not worth it. Pricey especially for a family and not that different. A few things broken. If you want to see the new display area, you have to pay more and nit really geared to kids. We tried to make a day of it, but kids were done after only a few hours. Will not be back

We had not intended on going here during our visit, but it was raining and we needed something to do with the kids (12 & 10). Parking is limited and you'll have to pay. Once inside, there are tons on activities for the kids, however I'd say that this place is meant for younger children. It's too childish for teenagers. All in all, a decent spot for a rainy day.

I was quite happy how they are operating during this pandemic. Although some exhibitions are closed, they remain opened most of the things kids usually enjoy.

It is not packed like before pandemic so kid can play longer without lining up.

We went as a family of five, me and my husband, my parents and my 3yr old son and we were all entertained and enjoyed Science World. Easy to get to via the ferries in the creek and reasonable entrance there were lots of different interactive things to do that everyone could get involved with. My son particularly enjoyed the water/ball activities and had great fun. I wish there was something like this back where I live as I would for sure get annual membership if I lived in Vancouver. Clean and spacious inside, we had a great afternoon playing.
