Sandra Whitmire

Alexandra (Sandra) Whitmire helps manage projects that mitigate risks for future spaceflight. Her background focuses on experimental and occupational health psychology. She has been part of HRP’s Human Health and Performance element since 2006, when she began as a contracted research coordinator.  

Whitmire has previously served as the deputy element scientist for the Behavioral Health and Performance element, and has worked in areas related to fatigue management, performance measurement, and strategies that help counter the behavioral effects of spaceflight. Prior to working with NASA, she helped conduct research on projects for the state of Texas and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
