Bright finishes atop the leaderboard, USCB takes home win at Oldfield

OKATIE -- Ellis Bright shot a 4-under 68 in the final round, finishing atop the leaderboard with an 8-under 208 three-round total and the Sand Sharks finished 4-over as a team, 10 shots in front of Drexel to claim the top spot at the Oldfield Classic Tuesday afternoon at the Oldfield Golf Club.

The Trowbridge started his final round in first place at 4-under and kick started his round with a par on number one before carding a birdie on three. He picked up another two birdies on holes 4 and 6, finishing the front nine 1-under. Consecutive birdies on 11 and 12 put Bright in a prime position on the back nine. He birdied 15 and 17 and nearly sunk a 52-foot birdie putt on 18.

Nikolai Holme carded a 1-over final round after finishing the first two rounds even par. Aaron Williams put together a stretch of four straight birdies from holes 9-12 in yesterday's second round and finished 10th overall with a score of 2-over. Eric Nord and Jan Ciric each finished inside the top 45 with scores of 12-over and 16-over respectfully.

Christofer Hammar and Tyler Quaill finished 8-over and 9-over as individuals and both Jonas Demant and Skyler Sicoli carded 16-over totals while Caelan Sammy finished at 19-over.

USCB will wrap up the 2023-24 season in three weeks at the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Augusta on April 18-19.
