My day-to-day life at SDHS is a routine I enjoy partaking in. The students and staff are my favorite part of the school. So many unique and fun clubs started by students of the school, and most of the staff/teachers really want you to succeed and will do whatever they can to help you grow. The classes themselves don't really offer much, in my opinion. They are a little mundane. I wish I felt a little more prepared for life after highschool than I am now.
My experience at San Diego High has definitely been an adjustment coming from a smaller school the campus is a lot bigger but can definitely be an issue when it comes to trying to keep it clean. But it's my last year and my favorite part so far has been the new softball field, my teammates and I with the help of our Coaches keep the maintenance up to date along with keeping it tidy.
I was online my first two years at San Diego High, so from online to in-person was difficult for me i was so used to being in the house waking up when I wanted, and then going back to sleep. My junior year had to be my worst year, my grades started slipping, I became depressed, and I wasn’t happy with myself at all. I had given up on myself. When my junior year was finally over I started my senior year although I passed all of my classes from the year before my GPA was still low which made it difficult for me to apply to college, I felt as if I was doing everything by myself. The counselors were no help whatsoever, I’m the first person in my family to go to college so nobody knew what to do. Something that I believe needs to change is the staff involvement when it comes to seniors getting ready to go to college i feel as if San Diego High doesn’t prepare for the stuff that you are about to go through and they favor a specific group of students.
