Olivier Awards 2024 performers and presenters announced, ITV to broadcast the awards

The Society of London Theatre has revealed the presenters and performers appearing at this year’s Olivier Awards 2024.

The ceremony will take place next Sunday, 14 April 2024, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, hosted by Hannah Waddingham.

Hannah Waddingham will once again open the event, performing with singer and pianist Joe Stilgoe. The announcer for the evening will be Meera Syal.

Performances during the show will come from the Best New Musical nominated productions including The Little Big Things, Next To Normal, Operation Mincemeat, A Strange Loop, Guys & Dolls and Hadestown, plus there will be a special moment from Groundhog Day Australia.

There will also be a special grand finale and onstage dedication for the National Theatre, celebrating its 60th anniversary.

Presenters of this year’s awards include Carlos Acosta (Acosta Danza – Carlos Acosta’s Carmen), Freema Agyeman (Jamie Lloyd’s Romeo & Juliet), Michael Ball (Les Miserables The Arena Spectacular), Ryan Calais Cameron (For Black Boys Who Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy), Billy Crudup (Harry Clarke), Cara Delevingne (Cabaret), Adrian Dunbar (Kiss Me, Kate), Edward Enninful, Denise Gough (People, Places and Things), Lenny Henry, Ruth Jones (Sister Act), Beverley Knight (Sister Act), Henry Lewis (Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle), Anna Maxwell Martin (The Constituent), Lucian Msamati (Waiting for Godot), Georgina Onuorah (Hamilton, Kiss Me, Kate), Rosalind Plowright, Jonathan Sayer (Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle), Michael Sheen (Nye), Luke Treadaway (Cabaret), Anjana Vasan (A Streetcar Named Desire), Michelle Visage (The Addams Family) and Dominic West (A View From The Bridge).

The Olivier Awards will once again be broadcast on ITV1 on the evening of the awards, Sunday 14 April 2024, at 10:10pm.

Also, TikTok will be hosting a live stream on the Green Carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in the build-up to the ceremony, hosted by content creator and actor Maddie Grace Jepson, from 4:30pm – 5:30pm BST.

In previous years Magic Radio and Magic at the Musicals also broadcast the ceremony live on the night, although their participation hasn’t been confirmed for 2024.

Nominations for the 2024 Olivier Awards were announced last month by Beverley Knight. Jamie Lloyd’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Theatre, Ruper Goold’s production of James Graham’s Dear England at the National Theatre and Prince Edward Theatre, and Nicholas Hytner’s production of Guys & Dolls at the Bridge Theatre were the biggest scorers of the nominations. Sunset Boulevard received 11 nominations, and Dear England and Guys & Dolls both got 9 nominations.
