Sooners Snapshot Profile: A look back at Sam Bradford's Oklahoma career

Being the quarterback at Oklahoma comes with immense pressure and Sam Bradford exceeded expectations in Crimson and Cream. Known for tremendous dedication and commitment to the mental preparation aspect of the game, Bradford’s work ethic made him elite. In his debut season in 2007, Bradford threw for 3,121 yards and 36 touchdowns, guiding Oklahoma to a victory in the Big 12 Championship and a Fiesta Bowl appearance.

The production continued the following season for one of the most prolific offensive performances in NCAA history. As a redshirt sophomore, he led OU’s no-huddle offense that set new records. Bradford threw a school-record 50 touchdown passes and rushed for an additional five. He completed 328-of-483 passes (67.9 percent) for 4,720 passing yards (school record). The stellar year boosted his platform in Heisman voting. He won over Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and Florida’s signal-caller Tim Tebow. Bradford became an Oklahoma legend in Norman.
