Speaking on Kammy and Ben’s Proper Football Podcast, Sam Allardyce has been discussing the current crop of Premier League managers and Jurgen Klopp.
The Premier League is undoubtedly home to the best managers in the world. Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp are two of the greatest of all-time, while the likes of Mikel Arteta and Graham Potter are amongst the brightest young minds in the game – and that’s before we even mention Antonio Conte.
Allardyce is of the opinion that England is now home to the best managers in the world, and he reserved some special praise for the Liverpool manager, stating that he’s a ‘fantastic’ coach.

Allardyce had good things to say about Klopp, but, in typical fashion, he mentioned that he does have a decent record against the German.
“We have the best in the world don’t we? That’s what I think. The best in the world want to try the Premier League. Your pitting your wits against the best in the world. I have a good record against Jurgen except for the last 30 seconds at West Brom when the goalie scored. I never got over that one, but yeah I’ve done well but he’s a fantastic manager at a fantastic football club now,” Allardyce said.
One of the best ever
Allardyce says that Klopp is one of the best managers in the world, but we’re going to go one further and state that he’s one of the best managers ever.
Let’s not forget the state that Liverpool were in when Klopp took over, they were struggling to even qualify for the Champions League each season in the mid-2010s, and now, they’ve reached three finals in five years.
If it weren’t for this ridiculously good Manchester City team, Klopp’s Liverpool would be considered as the greatest Premier League side of all-time, while their recent points hauls speak for themselves.
Klopp is an all-time great and Liverpool are lucky to have him.
