Saint chapelle is a must when visiting Paris. The glass stained windows are mesmerizing and so stunning.
We didn't have tickets but were able to buy it at the door. Line wasn't too bad, probably waited about 10-15 mins. You can also buy it ahead online.
I'm so glad we were able to make it here because it is absolutely beautiful.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 23, 2024
Absolutely gorgeous church. The amount of detail in the stained glass windows is breathtaking. The guy at the lines outside did a terrific job, however he was working by himself trying to answer questions, and keep 3 lines moving based on ticket times/those needing to purchase tickets. I commend him for how hard he worked, however he shouldnt have been alone helping a few hundred people outside. Im guessing this church is busier than usual woth the continued closure of Notre Dame, however I feel like they did not make the necessary adjustments to keep the lines moving for under a few hours of wait time.

We pre-booked tickets with Musuem Pass for Sunday at 3. Most museum lines are pretty organized with 3 lines: ticket-holders with :00 time slot, ticket-holders with :30 time slot, and non ticket-holders. We got there at 2:30 since we finished lunch early and decided to just go there and wait. There wasn't even really a line for the non-ticket holders so when a group would line up, they would let them in first. Make no sense because we ended up having to wait to get in, even though we did the research and planned ahead of time to get the tickets. But at least this was just for the security line because once we got through that, we were able to go right in, whereas the non-ticket holders still had to wait in line to actually purchase the tickets.
Once inside, the church is really beautiful. I've been to my fair share of European churches but I must say, nothing quite compares to this one with all the colors and elaborate patterns of the windows. It truly is a sight to see but there is really nothing beyond that. We were in and out in probably about 15 minutes. Still, I'd recommend giving it a visit if you're in Paris. You just don't need to arrive any earlier than your timed slot.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jun 23, 2023
This beautiful artistic chapel is a MUST see place in Paris.
Its good to get tickets online in advance but even the without tickets the line goes pretty fast.
The impressive part was the silence and there was even a person responsible to shish you if you are laughing or talking loud!
Really enjoyed the beauty and it only need 30 min to visit this placeHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ben S.San Francisco, CA044Feb 26, 2024
Didn't buy tickets ahead of time. Just walked up. Bout a 30 minute line. Worth it. Very cool and pretty inside. My brother did not enjoy it though. He was tired and did not feel like going but I made him go anyways. I tried to get a good photo of him but as you can see, he does not look impressed.

Saint Chapelle
This is such an incredible masterpiece that you shouldn't miss including it on your Paris list!
It is a small church but all that is inside is just wow, especially the upper level with all the beautiful tall stained glass windows, it's one of those moments when your eyes are purely amazed, looking at its awe-inspiring beauty as you enter! It's just breathtaking!
Fortunately, it was a sunny day and we could enjoy the glorious colors shining through the glass!
Looking from the outside, we had no clue it would be this stunning! You have to see it to believe it!!
To get to the upper level, you must use a narrow winding stair which we almost missed seeing.
I wonder if people with mobility issues could access the upper level, but I am sure there would be a way for them! So I would suggest enquiring about it if you have anyone who can't use those stairs.
Also, I recommend reserving tickets in advance to save you time from standing in line.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 15, 2023
Magnificent - Highlight of Paris!
Took family to this site - parents, mother-in-law and my husband and I. Read some reviews and decided to give it a try.
My mother-in-law is very religious and to say she was God-smacked is saying it lightly. Parents are not really into churches, but even they were amazed and absorbed with this chapel.
So beautiful, take the time to just sit, relax and wind your way through all of the different windows. Each panel is a different chapter of the bible story and each image a significant event. We all enjoyed the time spent and look for the "plague of frogs" it is very cool.
Located near Notre Dame and even though it is closed, don't miss this hidden gem.
We all voted that this place was the highlight of our Paris stop on our trip.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steven W.Burbank, CA397186573Apr 2, 2023
Sainte-Chapelle is a true gem of Paris, and its stained glass windows are some of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring works of art I have ever seen. As you step into the chapel, you are immediately struck by the sheer size and magnificence of the stained glass windows that surround you.
The windows soar up to the ceiling, with intricate designs and rich colors that seem to come to life in the light. The way the light filters through the glass creates a magical atmosphere that is truly breathtaking.
The windows tell the story of Christianity, with scenes from both the Old and New Testaments depicted in stunning detail. Each window is a work of art in its own right, with intricate details that draw you in and capture your imagination.
What's truly remarkable about the stained glass windows at Sainte-Chapelle is that they have survived for over 800 years, a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans who created them. It's incredible to think that these windows have been here for centuries, inspiring awe and wonder in generations of visitors.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting Sainte-Chapelle and taking the time to appreciate its stunning stained glass windows. It's a truly magical experience that will stay with you long after you leave.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 4, 2022

Three words - STAINED GLASS WINDOWS
A symbol of both religion and royalty, the Sainte-Chapelle (Holy Chapel) is located inside the Palais de la Cité which was the king's residence during the medieval period. Its spire and north walls can be seen from Boulevard du Palais, where the entrance to the palais and chapel is located.
Since it is inside the Palace of Justice grounds, it was difficult to get a photo of the full exterior. There's a fee to enter, but it's included in the Paris Museum Pass if you happen to have one.
The chapel has two levels - the lower level for servants of the king and the upper level for the king and royal family. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the lower chapel was small which made us appreciate the beauty of blue ceiling with its arches and fleur-de-lys.
The upper chapel was a whole new story - tall stained glass windows, each intricately designed to tell a story. We stood right in the middle and did a 360°. We were in awe! This was definitely fit for a king.
We've seen photos and videos of the inside, but being here was totally different. From the outside, there were no indications that it was going to be this breathtaking. Squeeze in an hour or so to visit Sainte-Chapelle when in Paris...Helpful 43Thanks 0Love this 46Oh no 0 - Sophie N.Beverly Hills, CA8239528Feb 24, 2023
Sainte- Chapelle is a gem of Gothic style. Our tour guide took us there early so we freely walked around and enjoyed the beautiful chapel. I recommend visiting this historic chapel.
