Lady F This movie is sex orientated and rubbish compared with the first S.W.A.T movie (2003), especially when it comes to the introduction of the one female swat member. When Chris Sanchez is introduced she's shown as a female officer wanting to join swat who can handle her own. When Lori Barton is introduced it's eye candy and the rest of the team makes suggestive comments. The writing is pretty meh as well as the overall movie so watching it to pass time or as background noise would suffice. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/26/23 Full Review Vincius S I went to watch the movie without expecting much from it, but it surprised me positively. Taking away the clichés, such as the villain's motivation, the plot is well tied and is far from conventional. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/19/22 Full Review Lamar One of the worst movies I have ever seen. No plot, bad acting. Everything was moving to fast, I had a hard time keeping up with it. Terrible dialogs. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/22 Full Review christopher d Full of clichés and generally bad action sequences. Lots of things put in to look cool that look ridiculous. Gabriel Macht was reasonably good and the cast in general weren't terrible and this appears to have a reasonable budget. Just poor writing and directing let this down. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review David d Nice action flow and music score. Robert Patrick is a good bad guy as usual. Gabriel Macht a bit of a typecast: saw him in ‘Suits' and here he is playing the same type of smooth arrogant character - a bit too much, also when he gets into the emotional phase. Otherwise a very likeable guy. Some plotholes, like when Patrick is released on bail, any half smart copper would check his record: who is that guy, what is his background ? Also, the part where the SWATs go out to talk down a jumper, and are trapped: why do they split up ? Why would SWAT go out for a jumper anyway, that is NOT their remit - they are the heavy guys/girls, for bankrobbers and hostage takers.. Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed When it's not touting B movie stars like Loken and Robert Patrick, it does a damn fine job as an action film and a crime thriller... Apr 5, 2011 Full Review R.L. Shaffer IGN DVD Hardly fresh or original, but S.W.A.T.: Firefight is an enjoyable, action-packed follow-up to the 2003 original and one of the better DTV titles out there. Rated: 7/10 Mar 23, 2011 Full Review Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com Amusing in the moment, with a merry junk food cinema rhythm, the low-budget follow-up isn't nearly as brawny as the original feature, electing video game stylistics and movie-of-the-week plotting to dream up a new adventure.
