Good and drinks had incredible presentation and tasted even better than they looked! Our server was friendly and prompt, and brought both myself and my mom a carnation for Mother’s Day, which was very funny and sweet! Definitely will be back.

On Sunday limited to brunch menu only but this was not a problem. Lots of choices. Food was quite good, the Canteen breakfast was delicious and quite enough in terms of quantity.

We had only 45 minutes to eat our dinner because of Theatre plans. The waiter talked to the chef to see what we could eat that quickly. We were very happy with the choices and thank them for accommodating us.

We arrived earlier than our 5:30 pm reservation and were graciously seated snd served drinks and apps while waiting for a guest to join us. There was a happy hour drink menu. Saves a few $$. We were offered sips of the wine to help decide which glass yo order. Our server was trying very hard but had to check several times with colleagues to confirm menu details. He was polite and quick to return with answers. The canteen burger was good. We needed an option other than a brioche bun and the only bun offered was gluten free. That was a bit odd. Usually a ciabatta or baguette bread is subbed at other restaurants, but we ordered the gfree option and it was ok. We also had the salmon and grains nicoise salad. It was enjoyable. It’s a comfortable ambiance. Great to walk to theatre and would come again.

For the O&B name I was expecting higher quality of food for the cost. I was disappointed in my brunch experience. Of the 3 dishes on our table only the shakshuka was good but not outstanding. Subpar brunch. Thankfully the service was great!

They’ve scaled back their menu and it’s no longer the creative, innovative place it once was. Now it’s burgers, shawarma, nachos, pizza and similar basics dressed up as if they’re something fancy. There are a few things on the menu that might be considered a step fancier, like lamb tagine or a spicy tuna poke bowl, but it just feels downright downscale compared to what they used to serve once upon a time. I’m sad for them, they had a wonderful menu in their earlier days, you used to be able to enjoy fancier dishes that you couldn’t really get anywhere else in that area.

We have enjoyed brunch here many times; however this was our first time for dinner. We were pleased with the menu options and had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner. They have a small but good wine list, and we arrived during happy hour which has some pleasing options. Will definitely will return for dinner

We regularly stop in for brunch on our way to the theatre. As always service was prompt, our meal was hot and tasty, and we never felt rushed. The staff are friendly and pleasant. While we generally drop in every 4 to 6 weeks the staff has started to recognize us and wonder which play we are going to see.

Portions were small. But very well flavored. Service was fast but we got there just before the restaurant filled up. They were mindful we were trying to make a 7:30 show and made sure we kept to that timetable.

Some items significantly overpriced with small portion size. Ordered a Caesar salad. $19. Although very tasty, it was very small. The person beside me received the same salad which appeared significantly larger. I expressed my concerns to the server. Management agreed to compensate the bill. They reduced it only $2. It was actually insulting. The other members in my party also felt their meals were not as tasty as previous visits. Probably won’t go back again

The caesar salad needed more dressing. The chicken schwarma was delicious but I found it had a little too much vinegar taste. There were not a variety of selections on the menu, limited which did not suite people with lactose-free diet.

I’ve enjoyed meals at Canteen previously but was quite disappointed in the French toast I had for brunch. Two thin slices of bread were ordinary and not nearly enough, although the little bit of fruit compote and crème fraiche were tasty. Overall the brunch was overpriced and mediocre. I would not recommend Canteen for brunch.

Pleasant atmosphere however portions were small- lamb tangine had very little lamb and a few root vegetables. I asked if I could substitute extra vegetables for couscous and my request was denied by the kitchen - how petty. Menu quite limited.

First time having brunch. Service is amazing but the food so so. I had shakshuka, it was watery, eggs rock hard they provide two little pieces of pita and when I was almost halfway through they brought me a spoon. I think they should take her off the menu as it’s definitely not their forte. Dennis has always been good. We won’t do brunch there again.

We had a fantastic brunch here before a theatre show. Service was speedy. Food was delicious, and our server was an absolute gem. The menu for weekend brunch is minimal, but our party of 3 each had a different meal and they were all excellent. They have perfected the menu and we will return!

Took my family here before a show at Princess of whales theatre. They were so understaffed and the place was packed. They are next door to the theatre. They know they will get theatre crowd who are on a tight timeline. Why weren’t they properly staffed. The manager was even serving tables. Food was poor. Prices were ridiculous. $300 wasted. Never again.

O&B Canteen was a perfect choice for lunch before our theatre show. Food was good. Some parts of mine were a bit overcooked (mushrooms. Eggs) but still good. Ambience was fun, a bit loud as tables were placed very close together. Service was excellent.
