What travelers are saying
- KaterinaBouzaSao Paulo, SP401 contributionsIn addition to the ecotourism, the trail is also a historical-cultural program. In its course, several monuments and buildings, some dating from 1922, reconstitute the importance of this path in the history of the interconnection between the coast and the area of São Paulo. During the 9 km trail you will visit the Casa de Visitas, Pouso Paranpiacaba, Belvedere Circular, Calcada de Lorena and Rancho da Maioridade. Also you will pass through an Atlantic Forest and you will admire the biodiversity of flora and fauna with a lot of small waterflows and rivers. The trail had medium difficulty and are needed 4 to 5 hours to be crossed. In order to enjoy your visit choose a good travel office which can organize this visit carefully. I was lucky because I was part of a very good group and the organization by the travel office was excellent.!Written September 19, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RHAHJNijmegen, The Netherlands1,972 contributionsThis park is situated south of the Billings Reservoir, in Sao Bernardo. There are buses going from Sao Bernardo to Riacho and to the park itself, and there are also buses going to Rio Grande da Serra.
I chose to walk from Riacho Grande, a 40 minute walk mostly along the waterside. Here I already noticed some birds at the pedestrian bridge over the highway. I heard one toucan, amongst others. Some locals told me that at 6.00 the place would be full of parrots and toucans. At the waterside I noticed herons, egrets, and kingfishers. Walking up the road to the park I first saw a toucan, and a little later a trogon. In the park I noticed some parrots and parakeets, southern lapwings, cormorants, and a pied-billed grebe. Then I visited the small zoo. There are many interesting animals, including a puma, porcupines, peccaries, deer, agoutis, a cayman, an otter, four caracaras, several monkey species, two leguanas, some snakes, a black-billed toucan, many parrots (with many lost feathers though), some owls, a falcon, and a few more species. After lunch I rented a kayak and spent more than 90 minutes on the reservoir, where I mainly saw two kinds of kingfisher.
I had a good time, and I think I will come back at an earlier time of the day. What I don't understand is why there are five different restaurants and snackbars. One or two would do, and that would save some space for nature.Written November 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I used to go there when I was a child and it was great to revisit my childhood. However,
some rides like "Submarino" is not worth visiting.
Food choices are limited. If you like healthy food, pack your own snack/ lunch.Written March 29, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even though it's a small park, there are places to play with young kids, to walk, relax, run have picnic, and so on.Written July 23, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's clean and child-friendly and there is even a café. I even went running, but the track is a little bit on the short side for that.Written December 19, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
