Dr. Ruth is thrilled about the debunking of the G-spot myth

Not everything about the lockdown has been bad — for example, it’s meant that we’ve been hearing from the utterly delightful Dr. Ruth.

She’s called us to warn singles about cybersex and to encourage parents not to argue in front of their kids in quarantine. And on Thursday she called with her thoughts about a story she’d been reading in Cosmopolitan.

She told us she was thrilled to read a story debunking the myth of the G-spot. “For years, everybody had put pressure on me to talk about the G-spot,” she told us. “I said always, until I get scientifically validated data, I am not talking about it. I don’t want women to think they are not all right because they can’t find it. I don’t want men to think they aren’t good lovers because they can’t find the G-spot. For Easter and Passover, I got a gift from Cosmopolitan.” She added, “This takes away the pressure and anxiety.”

The article says some women may feel pleasure when a certain spot is stimulated, but that 44 percent of women have “felt frustration, confusion, or anxiety” about finding it and 31 percent of women said their partner got “frustrated while searching for it.”

We hope to hear from the good doctor again soon!
