Queens of Noise Lyrics

[Verse 1]
With a pinch of rock and a dose of roll
I can warm you up if you get too cold
I can bring you up if you're going down
I can smash your head all over this town

[Pre-Chorus]
You gave me the answer
Now I got the answer, oh yeah

[Chorus]
'Cause we're the queens of noise
Come and get it boys
Queens of noise
Not just one of your toys
Queens of noise

[Verse 2]
I remember you at our second show
You were holding on and you wouldn't let go
And I bet you'll always be that way
Whenever you see us start to play

[Pre-Chorus]
You gave me the answer
Now I got the answer, oh yeah
[Chorus]
'Cause we're the queens of noise
Come and get it boys
Queens of noise
Not just one of your toys
Queens of noise

[Outro]
Queens of noise
Come and get it boys
Queens of noise
Not just one of your toys
Queens of noise (We're the queens of noise)
Come and get it boys (Come and get it boys)
Queens of noise (We're the queens of noise)
Not just one of your toys (Not just one of your toys)
Queens of noise (We're the queens of noise)
Come and get it boys (Come and get it boys)
Queens of noise (We're the queens of noise)
Not just one of your toys (Not just one of your toys)
Queens of noise (We're the queens of noise)

Genius Annotation

“Queens of Noise” is the title track of The Runaways' January 1977 album; Queens of Noise. It was recorded with Joan Jett on lead vocals, despite Cherie Currie believing it had been written for her. This decision was made because Currie was unwell following an abortion, and the song had already been recorded by the time she had returned to the studio. This infuriated Currie, and the song serves as a reflection of the growing tension in the band at the time.
