Thanks for having this music product ! Wood will be always be the boy in Rod Steward's band but not so bad with Mic and Keith . A classic for Wood fans .
it's a very good anthology of what ronnie has done in the past 30 years: his work alone, with the faces, with jeff beck, with rod stewart, and the stones.
this collection shows that ronnie, in addition to being an extremely good duitar player, is a pretty good songwriter and that his songwriting skills have remained quite remarkable in the course of his whole career. some of the late stuff that he has co-written by bernard fowler (breathe on me,...) is very very good.
one more, and totally unrelated, point--listening to 'i can feel the fire', i had the impression that mick jagger's voice and clearer and more clearly identifiable than it was when the song was released.
Ronnie Wood's "Anthology" is a fine example of how our R&B has matured over the years. I'm in my 60's and I remember when Faces was just started to be played on the radio. I always liked the licks that he got in. It took me awhile to get to like that lead singer, What's his name Rod someone? Ronnie's music was what I thought held it all together. Yes, I know Rod Stewart and I own his "Storyteller - Complete Anthology Box Set". Ronnie's "Anthology" is something that I put on my iPod and enjoy.
Went down to see Ronnie when he was promoting his book. While he was signing, the store played a loop of tracks including "Sure the one you Need" and "Get Yourself Together" (or something like that) from Got My Own Album to Do. Figured they'd have to be a best of. Nope. They did include two Stones cuts on disc two that I'd rather have forgotten.
Overall a fun set and I really enjoyed disc two a bunch, but I had to go and buy the first solo lp for those songs by Jagger and Richards. Ronnie is one of the guitar players who deserves more credit for shaping British rock and roll. Great musician.

I don't know who made the song selections for this 2-disc album but they sure missed the mark. Both discs suffer from poor song selections with many great cuts MIA and this is a huge missed opportunity. Very Unfortunate.

You could do a lot worse than picking up any Ronnie Wood solo album. Sure, he rocks hard but he also has a way with a groove and is a very prolific and underrated songwriter. In addition to all the records that bear his name, the guy has been a secret weapon contributing to so many rock and roll classics for so long that his DNA may possibly be the key ingredient in stealth technology.
This double disc career overview logically features one disc of solo highlights and follows with a second disc showcasing his contributions to various group efforts for the likes of the Rolling Stones, the Faces and The Jeff Beck Group as well as more obscure combos. However the song selection is somewhat lacking and if I were king, it would have been different.
Disc 1 fares pretty well overall and offers a fine representation of RW solo cuts from the early 70's through the early 00's. You can't go wrong with any of these but off the top of my head, I am astonished that Sure The One You Need from I've Got My Own Album To Do is MIA and I would have liked to see the hard rocking Like It from 1992's Slide On This make the cut. Also, Woody has put out some pretty fantastic (and criminally overlooked) live albums that are not represented here.
Disc 2 suffers from too many tracks from his obscure 60's groups The Birds (Think British Invasion also-rans) and The Creation (Standard Yardbird-esque British 60's psychedelic rock). Six songs from these pre-fame and fortune outfits would fit fine if this were a six disc box set but in this format, they take up too much valuable real estate. Also over-represented is the Jeff Beck Group with four tracks. Ronnie was demoted to bass in this seminal combo and it really is all about JB with Rod Stewart as a close-second star. Ronnie was a key contributor to the jammin' Plynth (water down the drain) and that great song would have been sufficient to represent this period of his career.
If anything, the fabulous Faces are under-represented with four tracks as is the early Rod Stewart solo material where Ronnie's guitar was such a key contribution. It is pretty much an open secret that in the context of the Stones Mick and Keith have inappropriately shared or denied songwriting credit to RW (and Mick Taylor before him) but at least we get the great Black Limousine and Everything Is Turning To Gold. I would have liked to see the fantastic groover Pretty Beat Up presented here (perhaps in its pounding RW-sung version from Live & Eclectic).
Finally, it's odd that the New Barbarians aren't represented here as well as anything from the Live At The Ritz Bo Didley collaboration.
Just finished his autobiography & seeing him live at Bluesfest in November, so essential back-up research- FABULOUS, I didn't realise how influential he has been on the British music scene.
Disc#1はｿﾛでの楽曲が並べられており、Stones/It's Only Rock'n Rollの録音期 と同時期に彼の英国・ﾘｯﾁﾓﾝﾄﾞの自宅ｽﾀｼﾞｵ”Wick”で制作された初ｿﾛｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ ”I've Got My Own Album To Do”よりMick Jaggerと共作、共演した#1, 何度聴いても解ら無いがｺｰﾗｽにはﾃﾞﾋﾞｯﾄ･ﾎﾞｳｲが参加しているらしい。 （蛇足ながらこの時 この曲とIt's Only R&Rの2曲が二人で共作されRonnieが こちらを取り、StonesはIt'sを録音したらしい）
