Manchester United star says what Cristiano Ronaldo is still doing at Al-Nassr is not appreciated enough

Cristiano Ronaldo made a decision to cut ties with Manchester United in late 2022 and has not looked back.

Not many regard his move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr as a positive switch. In the eyes of most, it was a switch which ended Cristiano Ronaldo‘s time at the top level.

While many big name footballers have flocked to follow him to Saudi Arabia, the level of football is still regarded as a few rungs below Europe’s top leagues.

Ronaldo has found a little happiness in his new surroundings, getting back to doing what he does best, scoring goals.

Casemiro praises Cristiano Ronaldo

Casemiro scored 24 goals in his return season for Manchester United, giving a lot to the team even at 36, turning 37.

His second season wearing his iconic number seven shirt began in a difficult manner and it showed on the pitch, he scored only three goals before forcing his exit.

At Al-Nassr, he has scored at a typically prolific rate, also adding to his tally with goals for Portugal in Euro 2024 qualifying matches.

In fact during the calendar year 2023, no player in world football scored more goals at professional level than Cristiano Ronaldo, whose tally remarkably exceeded 50.

Now 39, Ronaldo’s season tally at Al-Nassr stands at 29 goals in 25 league games, plus 10 assists.

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid teammate Casemiro has spoken out to praise Ronaldo, believing that he is still doing is not appreciated enough.

Speaking to El Chiringuito TV, Casemiro said: “We have enjoyed it and we don’t realise it, we wouldn’t value much what Cristiano did in football and what he has done.

“Last year he scored 50 goals ‘what are you going to say about a player like that?”.

One player reminds Casemiro of Cristiano Ronaldo

While Cristiano Ronaldo really is one of a kind, there is one player who reminds Casemiro of the Manchester United icon and all-time leading Champions League goalscorer.

Casemiro talked up Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, commenting: “He is one of the best of the moment. very fast, intelligent… he has pace, he is a bug.

“He reminds me a lot of Cristiano. He is on the field, but he is in danger of scoring. Cristiano was like that, he is smelling the goal.”

Casemiro also talked about his move to Manchester United and how a tearful Carlo Ancelotti almost talked him out of an exit.
