Ahh yes 2 point guards as shooting guard lol. I know they are interchangeable but OP specified SG. I’d put Steph at SG honestly

isn't that what we are doing now with running Curry, BP/CP3

Steph has played as a pseudo SG like his whole career. Sure he also plays more traditional point sometimes but whenever dray is initiating the offense and Steph is moving off ball, he’s playing more of a traditional SG style

In that sense yes that's why i chose those two guys who can also play make while not being complete 0 on offense, Murray/Brogdon can both handle that role

You do know getting some these would need us to get rid of some of our beloved young guys. Right?

So how do we improve then? what moves can we make? I don't understand what you're telling me

did we not move on from Poole?

Hartenstein is not gettable, he’s just too good. He’s a free agent and he will get more than we can offer. I’m assuming we can use the taxpayer MLE.

Bitazde has solid numbers. Haven’t seen him play that much. But I think he’s gettable. It’s mildly concerning that the Magic aren’t using him right now outside of garbage time. Mo Wagner is ahead of him in the rotation.

The other guys would be trades. I do not think the Warriors would want Grant’s high salary. But maybe one of the others.

Hart is deff up there in my top choices and is not completely out of our reach i think even still my back up idea is Goga, or even JI from Magic

Grant is more on the lofty side, he is essentially juiced up version of Wiggins offensive while being passable on defense, at least in theory lol so thats why i'd like him, but as you said don't think there's aa high chance we can get him

beyond those brogdon is someone i liked, very mature player shot 50-40-90 couple seasons ago, can playmake etc could be gettable imo

Bitadze is gettable, ask GP2

I really like Claxton from the Nets, he’s a free agent this upcoming offseason. Had a great defensive season the last year KD and Kyrie played for that team, he hasn’t played as well this season but the Nets as a whole have been so bad this season. He’d be a good center/big that could help us for next season imo

With what money? He’s gonna get a bag for the Nets/Grizzlies.

yup thats why i didn't put him up, but if we're going all in guys we can't get i'd also like Mikal Bridges lol

Idk let Dunleavy worry about that. He can make trades to open up cap space, re-work contracts or something.

Reworking contracts is basically unheard of, and the only trades that would clear meaningful cap space would be to salary dump Wiggins or Dray for no real value. Like realistically to sign an above average level player (anyone who needs more than the MLE to sign) it would mean three out of: Klay, CP3, Wiggins and Dray are all gone next year and at that point I don’t think anyone is enough of an upgrade to make up for 3 of those players combined

Damn didn’t realize that. Warriors got alot of shit to work through this offseason. We have no 1st round pick this draft and running it back with this roster sounds awful. I dont know what they could do

Cp3 most likely gone anyways as salary dump.

Klay is the wild card as I think he wants to stay but the way he’s been playing lately I think somebody will throw the bag for his service for three years that warriors cannot justifiable match. This will be his last chance to make more money if he wants that.

Green staying as curry needs him just as much as he needs curry. Wiggins people keep saying to trade but his value is fluctuates every week.

Ok. Sure.

Now. How do you suppose we pay for any of that???

Other than Steph, who I agree should be considered untouchable, almost everyone on the roster is a salary / value mismatch. The top-earning veterans earn more than they are worth, or at least more than they have demonstrated they are worth this season, and our 4 top youngsters are worth more than they earn, but their salaries alone won't allow us to match for any real impact player.

Therefore, any trade we make for a valuable player will probably have to include a high salary and two or more young players and/or FRPs.

We can get better, but we can't JUST get better. We need to give stuff up.

All first- and second-tier FAs are out of reach. We can't pay them enough to sign them, even with the TPMLE, assuming we're able to use it. It has to be a trade.

If we trade Klay, it will have to be a sign & trade, and that will complicate things anywhere from a little up to making it impossible.

GPII and Looney are probably roughly worth what they earn, and they earn enough to be significant in salary matching. Looney is clearly expendable if we're bringing in a Center, and a team sending us a Center would probably value Looney at his current salary. GPII would have to exercise his PO to allow us to trade him. If he doesn't, I think we could still Sign & Trade him, but that seems unlikely.

Thank you, a lot of ppl around here do not understand that. If we want to improve, we prolly will have to deal some of our promosing youngsters.

Right that's my sentiment too so why are these guys talking about 'but then we'll have trade our beloved young guys' to which i said how can we make ANY moves without changing the rosters??

ngl really pissed at that one comment below lol

What do you guys think? are they gettable, should we pursue them, if not who would you prefer?

For me it's Bitadze. Watch him tonight, he's capable of fitting our rotation well. I floated the idea of a straight up trade for Moody in this sub but was swiftly shot down.

Bitadze can grow into Looney's role but make up for Looney's injury-related shortcomings.

He's super inexpensive right now, which would help with getting off the 2nd apron.

His FG% has improved a few points every year... Currently 11% over his career average for this season which will help with spacing.

Also had a huge spike defensively... It's his best year for blocks/steals particularly in the paint.

I'm super high on him and think it would be a big net benefit for us

Plus there all 6'5 and up I think

We need to trade anyone except Steph and Dray in order to improve the roster

Facts

We can trade Dray if we can get value for him. His volatility will always limit his value. I just doubt anyone else will want to take on his BS enough to give us anything of real value.
