"Since Roger Federer's retirement, I've little interest in tennis," said legend

Former Italian player Adriano Panatta, a big fan of tennis legend Roger Federer, has revealed that he has been following tennis with less continuity since the Swiss retired from tennis at the Laver Cup, as he said in an exclusive interview with the Italian weekly magazine Chi.

Panatta explained: "Now that Federer has stopped I follow much less. The reason? Everything has changed. Now the champions walk around with a court of miracles. There's too much stardom, it seems like they're doing who knows what...

After all, they're only playing with a ball. However, when you stop and it's all over, you have to be ready, it's certainly not a walk in the park. I've had ups and downs too. But now I'm reborn. I have my company, home, friends.

I like to get around by bike, every day. I have amazing walks. And I live very close to Venice and Cortina, where I often go during the year." After winning the semifinals for the tenth time at the Australian Open and beating Andrey Rublev in three sets, Djokovic said goodbye to Federer in the post-match interview.

"Let's give a big round of applause to Federer, he deserves it. I've had great battles against Roger over the years. Obviously Roger Federer is missing from tennis. I saw him dressed very elegantly at Fashion Week."

Roger's Farewell

Four months have passed since the last official match played by Roger Federer in his career.

The Swiss champion has decided to put an end to his journey in the world of tennis due to constant knee problems and to play one last tournament in the company of his two historic rivals Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. The Laver Cup turned out to be the perfect stage to close the curtain and say hello to all his fans.

Team Europe, for the first time, failed to conquer the team event dedicated to Rod Laver, but gave great emotions on and off the court. The image of Federer hand in hand and in tears with Nadal after the doubles match will remain forever in the history of tennis and sport.
