Picking five will spread the choices around a bit otherwise these polls can be a bit too predictable.
I included Procol Harum and BLT. I basically cut it off at the James Dewar years, and then included what i would consider any major works. Too many what i might call inconsequential albums, i would have to add another ten or so. And really the Dewar years were his classic years (I wonder if i shouldn’t have included Beyond The Mist). But please discuss any other albums you know and like here! I know he’s been busy and i’m not a thorough fan. I would imagine Back it Up was likely the last one i heard. I saw him in 86 and his singer was soooo disappointing. I need Dewar. Or Bruce, for my Trower.

This is the one (and the actual copy) that got me started. I bought it probably right around when it came out ish. Still gives me chills his playing here.

He's never made what I'd call a bad album.

I just brought this home cuz i found it for $3. Seems fine. This was about the end of the classic Robin Trower band for me. And he gave it up after this. By this record he was really into clichés. I mean most of the songs are about nuthin. But with Dewar crooning them it’s that classic Trower sound. Victims Of The Fury what does that even mean. There’s barbed wire on the cover and the V has blood on it.. oooh. Man our Robin had some duff titles and covers. There are some delicious greasy grooves here of course.

Regarding BLT. I was totally excited for this pairing when i read about it, Robin’s forming a band with Jack Bruce! Can’t wait! But i gotta say i was a little disappointed. It seemed too basic. I thought this could be a new Cream. A cool band where Jack could do some experimental rock in the trio format. But they basically made a live album. I would have loved if they had got more creative and imaginative like the later Cream studio stuff of Jack’s or Songs From a Tailor. BLT was a lot of funky boogie power trio. Not so much an interesting studio record. I guess i was hoping for greatness. I can’t remember what i thought of the second one Truce. Probably the same. Seven Moons i had and honestly can’t remember much about it.

Bridge of Sighs.....greatest "Stoner" album of all time IMO. It will be 50 on April 20th.
Saw him on the Bridge tour in 1974 at the Philly Spectrum.

I know. I’m a terrible fan. I only wanted to do the Dewar era. Plus the Jack Bruce cuz those were rather a major pairing.

There's at least one Paramounts compilation CD with a line up that largely reappeared in Procol Harum.
Not sure how prominent the guitar is.
Do remember there being a pretty good cover of Mingus's The Mule on one I had.

The latest with female vocalist Sari Schorr is pretty damn good. His last three have been pretty consistent. Still a great guitarist.

Oh i couldn’t bear that rock chick singer, no. Sorry. It sounds like a terrible idea. He’s not had the right singer in decades.

Pity you couldn't work in all of Robin's post-Seven Moons albums, but I guess there's a limit on the number of items in a poll. The first Procol Harum album ought to have been included too; Robin plays on most of the album, even though he isn't on "A Whiter Shade of Pale".

I voted for A Salty Dog, Twice Removed from Yesterday, Bridge of Sighs, For Earth Below, and Seven Moons. Honorable mention to Robin Tower Live!.

Robin has been on quite a roll ever since reuniting with Jack Bruce for Seven Moons. I've liked pretty much everything he's released in the past 15 years.
