After impressing in Germany, Dzeko left to join Manchester City.

4) Mats Hummels - £3.6m - Bayern Munich to Dortmund

One of the best centrebacks in Bundesliga history, Hummels has had heaps of success both in the Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund sides.

Hummels first made a big impact for Dortmund when he joined in 2009 for under £4m. His performances in Jurgen Klopp's side made his price tag look a bargain, as he helped them to consecutive Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League final.

5) Aleksandr Hleb - £130k - Bate Borisov to VfB Stuttgart

Hleb has played for some of the biggest teams in Europe, namely FC Barcelona and Arsenal.

However, the round of applause has to go to the Stuttgart scouting team, as they signed him from BATE for £129k.

Hleb's time at Stuttgart saw him grab 67 goal contributions in 227 games before securing a move to the Premier League.

The former German international could go down as one of the greatest bargains in Bundesliga history, having gone on to secure 79 caps.

During his career, Frings played over 400 Bundesliga games in midfield.

Frings began life in the Bundesliga at Werder Bremen, playing 449 games for the club, and went on to represent Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

During his time in the Bundesliga, Volland played 247 games, grabbing 139 goal contributions, and featured for the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and TSG Hoffenheim.

His price-tag now seems a real bargain as the 30-year-old has since become a German international, playing 15 times for his country and even being a part of the 2022 World Cup squad.

Looking at Firmino's transfer value now as a Liverpool player, Hoffenheim pulled off a good a bit of business in bringing the Brazilian to Germany.

Firmino grabbed 67 goal contributions in 140 appearances in the Bundesliga and had a great record in the DFB-Pokal, grabbing 15 goal contributions in 11 appearances.

Firmino left Hoffenheim to join Liverpool, where he's gone on to win the Premier League title and the Champions League.

9) Joelinton - £1.9m - Sport Club de Recife to TSG Hoffenheim

Joelinton came into the Bundesliga relatively unknown and soon became one of the best players at Hoffenheim.

As a result of good performances, he got a big money move to England at Newcastle United, with the Magpies splashing £40m on him.

10) Julian Brandt - £433k - VfL Wolfsburg to Bayer Leverkusen

After impressing in the Wolfsburg youth system, Brandt moved across Germany to join Bayer Leverkusen, where he made an impact.

At Leverkusen, the German midfielder grabbed 93 goal contributions in 215 appearances before moving to Borussia Dortmund, where he currently plays.

Brandt has also represented Germany 39 times. A £430k deal for the attacking midfielder now seems a bargain to Bayer Leverkusen.
