The New York Yankees swooped in to secure Judge’s signature, while the Minnesota Twins somehow managed to land Correa. On the other hand, the San Francisco Giants, who were determined to snag a big fish; finally managed to land a big name this offseason.

The Giants’ dream of landing powerhouse slugger Aaron Judge was crushed as he decided to stay true to his New York roots and re-sign with the Yankees. The Giants had also set their sights on Carlos Correa, but a sudden injury scare put a damper on those plans and he ultimately rejoined the Twins. To add insult to injury, the Yankees snagged the Giants’ star player, Carlos Rodon. It’s shaping up to be a battle between the Giants and Yankees this off-season.

What will the veteran catcher bring to the Giants? 

The club has not yet confirmed, but according to mlb.com, the San Francisco Giants have added the catcher to their roster. Roberto Perez is a defensive wizard behind the plate. Despite his modest offensive stats since his debut, he shone in 2019. Hitting a career-high 24 home runs, but injuries have taken a toll on him in recent years. 

Over the past two seasons, he was only able to play in 65 games due to finger fractures and a nagging hamstring injury.
