Willie Robert Phillips was born on November 17, 1921 in Guilford County, North Carolina, the son of Oscar and Lunette Phillips. Willie departed his life on earth on April 21, 2024 to join his beloved wife of 77 years in their heavenly home.
Willie, 102 years young, passed away peacefully after a few years of declining health. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bonnie; a son, Barry; and Tammy, his first granddaughter. Willie is survived by his son Randy and wife Fran, daughter-in-law, Gloria, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandson. Willie was a Veteran of the Army Air Corps, now U. S. Air Force during World War II. He retired from Morflex/Pfizer Chemical Companies after 45 years of employment.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on April 25, 2024 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407, Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Beacon Place (AuthoraCare) 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC or your favorite charity.
