Kardashian and Simpson became close friends in the early 1970s. During their legal dispute, he stood by the former athlete at all times. In fact, he didn't have a licence when it all happened, but decided to reactivate it to help him.
After the tragic murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, Simpson found refuge in Kardashian's home. Even in the days following the crime, Kardashian was seen carrying a garment bag believed to contain Simpson's bloodstained clothes or the murder weapon.
Although Simpson agreed to turn himself in to authorities at 11:00 on June 17, 1994, Kardashian took it upon himself to read a letter he wrote to the media that was interpreted as a suicide note. Robert Kardashian died on 30 September 2003, due to oesophageal cancer. The exact amount he may have earned is unknown, but at his death he left an fortune worth more than $100 million.
