Jack White Is Pissed Off About The Mount Rushmore: ‘Who’s Going To Clean This Up?’

In a recent post on Instagram, Jack Black criticized the piles around the Mount Rushmore.

The singer shared three pictures from the area and wrote:

“So is all of this rubble the remnants of the sculpting of Mount Rushmore? So, nobody is going to clean this up? We, as a people, are just going to let this lay here forever? Was this already there, or is this the largest monument to littering the world has ever seen? Is this what Gutzon Borglum originally envisioned? Just chip away at the rock and leave all the detritus below? Did he think this was ‘not his problem?'”

White Wants Immediate Action

He went on to ask who would clean those up:

“I don’t see any other large piles of chipped stones and rubble around this area in the wide shots. Don’t get me started on the fact that this was native land and a sacred mountain. I also don’t want to hear about how the carving was supposed to be full-bodied presidents or the back of it has a secret room; I don’t care about that part. I specifically want to know who’s going to clean this up. And when, and how, and then we can ask ‘Why?'”

Jack Wants Mass Shootings To End

White is also sensitive about other issues in the United States — he raised his voice against mass shootings in 2022. He spoke after the 2022 Texas incident, which killed nineteen children and two teachers. White wrote the following on Instagram after his Texas concert:

“As we tour in Texas these past few days, I can’t help but feel saddened in so many ways about the latest in a long line of mass shootings, but mostly, I’m exhausted. Exhausted with the ignorant excuses about the inability to fix this problem, exhausted with people clinging to their political party or their ‘side’ instead of looking at the issue. Exhausted with people whining about their ‘freedom’ being more important than rules that help save lives.”

Jack said the country needed more rules to protect lives. He also criticized those who opposed new rules and called on officials to take action to prevent other tragedies.
