13-year-old SC boy's death leads to charges for 3 adults, SLED confirms
Three people charged in the death of a 13-year-old boy in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, include his mother, Hope Fish, uncle, Freddie Fish II, and grandfather, Freddie Fish Senior.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division says the charges are in connection with the death of Robert Blake Fish, of Duncan.
Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Fish died on Oct. 8, 2022, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
According to Clevenger, Fish was diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome earlier in life and was special needs.
Clevenger said the cause of death was listed as malnutrition and dehydration.
He said another significant condition was withholding seizure medication. Clevenger ruled the death homicide.
SLED confirms the following arrests in the case:
- Hope Fish: murder, felony child abuse and unlawful neglect towards a child.
- Freddie Fish II: accessory to murder and unlawful neglect towards a child.
- Freddie Fish Sr.: unlawful neglect towards a child
All three were booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center on Wednesday.
An obituary for Robert Fish said he was the son of Hope Fish.
SLED said that more information about the case will be released on Thursday afternoon or Friday.
The three appeared before a judge Thursday afternoon, due to the nature of the charges, bond was denied for Hope Fish and Freddie Fish II. Bail was set for Freddie Fish Senior at $5,000.
