The stars aligned to celebrate Rob Lowe!

The actor marked his milestone 60th birthday with an A-list party in Santa Barbara, California, on Saturday night.

Among those in attendance at the event included Robert Downey Jr. — fresh off his Oscars win — Zoe Saldaña, Amy Poehler, Kevin Costner and Jennifer Aniston, plus Gwyneth Paltrow, who attended with husband Brad Falchuck.

Other couples who similarly made the party a date night included Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi and Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo. Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden also attended the bash, a day after they announced the arrival of their second baby, son Cardinal.

Lowe's wife, Sheryl Berkoff, and their two sons, John Owen and Mathew, also partied it up with the actor and his famous friends over the weekend.

Earlier this month, Lowe opened up exclusively to PEOPLE about his mindset on aging ahead of his 60th birthday. The 9-1-1: Lone Star actor admitted he's "never felt better" about getting closer to his golden years.

"Luckily, I've had some time as the run-up," he said. "I love the milestone birthdays, because it really is an opportunity to reflect and to think about where you want to go."

"I'm so humbled and grateful that I have never had more things that are interesting to me going on in my life. Never felt better. My relationships and every level, I'm in the pocket and this is exactly the way I want to go into my next decade," Lowe added.

Looking ahead to what he has to look forward to in his later years, the Parks & Recreation alum said "there's a lot."

"I feel like I'm beginning a whole other chapter of my life," Lowe explained.

He added, "I will follow anything that satisfies my curiosity, where I can learn and where I can have some sort of an impact, whether it's movies, TVs, podcasts, books, business marketing, I'm in."

Last month, Lowe told PEOPLE that he's adopted lifestyle changes to stay in tip-top shape.

“I feel better than I've ever felt. And I think part of it is because I'm more cognizant of self-care. I'm as strong as I've ever been,” he explained. “I remember being intimidated turning 40. I remember being intimidated turning 50, and this is no difference. And just like those milestones, the closer I get, the better I feel about it."

In terms of his goals for his 60s, Lowe said that he'd like to stay active without getting injured.

“The challenge for me is a day off means a day off but I want to continue to do stuff,” The West Wing actor said.

“I really have to push myself to say, 'No, no, this is the day where it's okay to sit on the couch and watch football.' I love a good sauna, I love the cold plunge, and I've become reacquainted with the value of just a long walk, which I used to think was a waste of time, and I now know differently," he added.
