I had a vert poor experience at the River Rock. Every time i have phoned in to the hotel, i have waited on hold for an excessive amount of time. The suite was nothing more than adequate. Parking is a ten minute walk to the front desk, half of which is outside. Great on a rainy day when you are struggling with lots of luggage. The only food available after midnight is a take-out style Chinese food counter. The food quality and setting was akin to a shopping mall food court. There are two other take-out style counters for burgers and pizza, both of which were closed. The lobby restaurant was closed. This is supposed to be a 24 hour casino, but you cant get anything to eat except food court Chinese food? Ridiculous.

I tried to get into the Curve restaurant for breakfast and waited at the entrance for several minutes before I was even acknowledged, despite several staff members looking my direction. When the server finally acknowledged me, she turned and went back to serving tables! I never did get a seat and finally walked out.

This hotel likes to promote itself as a world class resort and casino. It is not even close. The management of this hotel needs to take a trip to Las Vegas to see how a well run resort casino really works. Their phone recording (which you will hear endlessly as you waiting interminably on hold) lists the hotel as being a "Four Diamond Resort" and "World Luxury Hotel". I have no idea whoever thought this place deserves such lofty titles, but it absolutely does not. The only advantage this hotel has is that it is close to the airport. Other than that, stay somewhere else.

It’s the little things that make a stay memorable. And River Rock fails on the details. Slow service at the check in (only 2 staff checking in a line of about 10 when I got there, had to wait over 20 minutes). Broken light fixtures with jagged glass in the hallways. Dishes left in the hallway for my entire stay. Beige, outdated rooms with horribly banged up furniture, dust everywhere, and a bed that creaked every time you moved even a little. TERRIBLE service at Curve restaurant (literally ignored by my waitress when I tried to speak to her multiple times; asked to speak to a manager about the service, none ever came). Elevator in west parkade didn’t work, no signs on any floor alerting to this. Each of these things might seem small, but when added up they leave me with a very negative view of the hotel. Wouldn’t recommend to others and wouldn’t stay again.

Slot machines are very tight and terrible. I have experienced this a few times at River Rock, Richmond BC where three hundred or more dollars disappears into these terrible slots within an hour or so. Hardly any bonus rounds, or decent line hits. No fun; just a waste of too much money. Play somewhere else!!

Again, I find out how terrible the slot machines at River Rock Casino in Richmond, BC truly are. Very little bonus rounds even varying my bets from low to medium to high amounts
Feel like a number one sucker from my playing experience there last night on July 3, 2023. Some security staff are rude and sarcastic also while entering the Casino. Awful customer service on their part. Spent much more than I wanted to last night as it was continual chasing after I lost my first thousand dollars on one truly terrible slot. Stay away from these slots everyone. The worst payouts ever!

The Casino can change the payout on slot machines. For example they can program the machines to pay out less on long weekends etc. The last couple of times I have gone to River Rock the slots haven't paid at all. I spent $1300 on one machine and the most it paid on a maximum $3.20 bet in 2 hours was $150. I tried several different machines the visit before and there were no payouts. I walked around the Casino to see if anyone else was winning... you guessed it... no jackpots or winners!!!! Find a different Casino. The only payouts are to the money launders.

Nice hotel with clean rooms and great customer service. Love staying here for layovers in and out of Vancouver. Good security for a travelling solo person. Close to the airport and if you are lucky, you might win a few $$$ at the Casino.

I found the hotel employees to be very friendly...this place is 3 stops from the airport by skytrain and a direct route to downtown..my room was cleaned everyday before 10 am...they have a button that says do not disturb or make room and everytime I left for breakfast and came back my room was clean...the gym is nice to get a quick work out...I loves the hot tub...because it was actually hot...the pool is heated as well...I even went on the water slide...

I've been to this location a few times and every time I go its crowded. Its nicely laid out, plenty of gaming options in a clean environment. Its part of a hotel so its easy to get to if you're already in that area. Sky Train station takes you right there as well or there is plenty of free parking if you want to drive yourself.

Play and gamble somewhere else, folks. Lost $1200. on one Asian Slot machine in 2 hrs, hardly any bonus rounds and switched the bet and denomination around a few times in attempts to get something good going....but ALL BAD. Stay away unless you bring $100, just for fun.

If you're not here for the Casino, this is probably not the place to stay! There are 2 buildings connected by a walkway above the street that seperates them. Unless you use Valet Parking, you have 2 options located at the end of the property neither of which are very convienent. One of them is gated and you need an access code but every time we tried to use it, it was full (there aren't many spaces in this area). The are a lot more spaces in this Parking garage but you can't use any of them. The other Parking Garage, also at the end of the property but farther away, has a lot more spaces however Hotel Guests cannot park on the first level. If you stay in the building with the Casino (and these are the more expensive Suite Rooms) you have easy access to the Swimming Pool, all but one Restaurant, and other ammenities. If you stay in the other building you can use a luggage cart to get your luggage to your room but only if you leave your identification. Must be a lot of people out there that steal Luggage Carts? We stayed in the building that did not have the Casino in it. The beds were comfortable and the room air-conditioning worked fairly well without excessive noise. The other guests in this building were extremely noisy coming and going at all hours of the night. The Front Desk was not so helpful or made us feel welcomed. I think had we been aware of some of these things we probably would have looked elsewhere or selected the other building.
