Vegas Music Roundup: Sphere More Harry Rumors, Ringo Returns, Fontainebleau Firsts
British tabloids have revived rumors that Harry Styles is staying at MSG Sphere , which we first reported in September.
According to The Sun, the 29-year-old former One Direction singer attended a U2 show at the Sphere earlier this month and was involved in a four-hour meeting with Sphere executives. Told to offer $50 million for at least 10 shows at Kugelwunder.
The meeting likely took place around November 1, the night U2 singer Bono reportedly incorporated snippets of Styles' 2017 hit "Sign of the Times" into his version of the 1988 U2 hit "All During a rendition of "I Want is You". (Style was filmed in the audience at a U2 Sphere show, but the date is never credited.)
In July, Styles completed his most successful tour to date, the Love on Tour, having recorded 169 shows since launching in September 2021. U2 will conclude its Sphere residency on February 18th. No further Sphere concerts are planned after this.
In October, Sphere Entertainment CEO James Dolan told Fox News, "We love Harry and if he wants to come, we're ready."
Rumors of Harry's Sphere talks come after Beyonce was also revealed to be following U2 into the Sphere for a $10 million production.Lady Gaga - who performed on the Sphere Stage last month with U2 - and Bon Jovi are also said to be interested in performing at the space-age venue.
New Ringo
Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr will bring his All Star Band back to the Venetian next year. He last performed at the resort's Venetian Theater in May.
What began as a more-or-less annual tour 34 years ago with a rotating cast of support members has now settled on a relatively stable line-up of guitarists Steve Lukather and Edgar Winter and singers . Colin Hay, bassist Hamish Stuart and co-drummer Gregg Bissonette have been working together for about a dozen years.
"I've always said that I'm happiest when I'm playing with great musicians, and this band is one of the best," Starr was quoted as saying in a Live Nation press release.
Starr, who played drums and sang lead on the recent hit Beatles reunion" single "Now and Then", will perform six shows in Venice: May 22, 24, 26 , 29th and 31st and June 1st.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, December 1 at 10am PST via Ticketmaster. Pre-sale for fans will begin on Tuesday, November 28th.
Fontainebleau’s first
John Samit will perform in his first residency at Fontainebleau nightclub LIV, which opens on the Las Vegas Strip on December 13. The Chicago DJ, who has played his electronic music at Coachella and Lollapalooza, appeared exclusively at a hotel in Las Vegas operated by Tao Group Hospitality last summer and is still making appearances on their website.
