MEMBERS

Saqib Chaudhri

Saqib has a huge passion for pedagogy and has been a teacher in London for over 15 years. He is very proud to be the Principal of Oasis Academy Shirley Park Secondary & Sixth Form. Having grown up in Croydon and educated in the area, he finds it a great privilege to be leading a school in his hometown and providing opportunities to the young people of Croydon in order to help them reach their potential.

Philip Hogan

Philip is a semi-retired businessman who has extensive executive experience working across a range of global and international businesses. He has served on the Trust Board since January 2016 and was appointed Chair of the Trustees in January 2019 at which point he was elected a member of the Trust. Philip is also a Lay Member (non-executive) on the Governing body for the local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group.

Sue Lewis

Having retired from a successful career in Retail Management and sitting as a magistrate, Sue has put the skills she learnt to good use as a school governor at Riddlesdown Collegiate and now as a Member of The Collegiate Trust. 

Tricia Farrelly

Tricia is a recently retired primary principal and delighted to be joining The Collegiate Trust as a Member. She has a vast experience in school improvement and inclusion through successfully leading schools in Croydon and Crawley. Tricia holds a strong belief that all children can be successful as learners and that learning to read confidently is essential to this success.

William Whitmarsh

William is a retired Secondary school Headmaster. He has taught in Secondary and Primary schools in maintained and academy sectors. William has served as a Governor and Chair of Governors in Primary and Secondary schools and is trained in Budget setting, results analysis and safer recruitment.

DIRECTORS

Keith Beattie

Keith is the Growth & Development Lead for The Collegiate Trust. He has over 15 years experience advising senior management and taking interim C-suite roles in businesses and organisations facing major periods of transformation. He is currently a Partner in a major global advisory firm where he focuses on leading and implementing significant transformation programmes. His work covers a range of industry sectors and spans from distressed to growth situations. Keith is married with two children and lives in SW London.

David Butler

David is the Chair of the Learning and Quality Committee. He has over 35 years of experience as teacher, head teacher, consultant and former Director of Education in a large and diverse Local Authority. He has experience of working with all phases of education and with maintained schools, academies, independent schools and schools with a religious character and he currently works as an independent education consultant with schools and local authorities across the country. David is a lifelong supporter of Crystal Palace Football Club and his love of the game saw him serve as the manager of the Croydon District football team at U12 – U16 levels for several years.

Soumick Dey

Soumick is the CEO of The Collegiate Trust, having been Principal of Riddlesdown Collegiate from 2015-2022. The Members have appointed him as a Director of TCT.

Sajid Ghani

Sajid is Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for the Trust, and has over 25 years’ experience in finance, audit and business operations gained both in the public and private sector. As a Certified Chartered Accountant he has held a variety of Managing Director and leadership roles,  including the co-founding and development of his own technology company. Additionally as a father of six children Sajid is a fully engaged school parent, and also regularly mentors young people in his work.  Sajid is keen for children to thrive in our schools and achieve their best potential.

Philip Hogan

Philip is the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Collegiate Trust. He became a Director of The Collegiate Trust in January 2016. He has held senior executive and Board level positions within the global business services industry for over 30 years and has lead businesses of up to 4,000 people operating in the financial services, government and IT sectors. His experience of managing and overseeing transformation change, acquisition integration and new business growth will ensure The Collegiate Trust grows in a thoughtful and risk managed manner.

Fiona McSorley

Fiona is the Vice Chair of the Trust and Chair of the Performance and Remuneration Committee. She is a former senior leader in secondary schools, a Specialist Leader in Education for teacher training and NQT development, and Director of Teaching School. Fiona has a particular passion for developing teaching and leadership and was a founding member of the Chartered College of Teaching in February 2017, and is now a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching.

James Palmer

James is a Programme Director for the NHS where he has specialised in joining up care systems and has worked in adult social care, child protection, community pharmacy and eyecare.  Before joining The Collegiate Trust he was a governor at a local primary school for 10 years, he is passionate about ensuring all children have access to outstanding education.

Tim Rodwell

Tim was appointed as a Director in March 2019 and has oversight of Health & Safety (including Estates). With high level management skills and experience of looking after large-scale shopfitting and retail display projects throughout Europe and further afield, Tim has a keen eye for concept interpretation and specification as well as a strong strategic mindset which ensures a sustainable business model. Tim is also a speaker for Founders4Schools, a charity that introduces students to inspiring, successful business leaders to discover the skills and pathways required to be part of those companies that will shape our future.  Tim is an Executive Council member of the National Association of Shopfitters and Interior Contractors. 

Simon Rowley

Simon is a Chartered Accountant and a Director at a global advisory and consultancy firm where he focuses on advising senior management teams and stakeholders groups during complex turnaround assignments and transformational change. Simon is Chair of the Audit, Risk & Finance Committee, and wants to ensure that all the schools in the Trust are able to provide a high quality, holistic education that prepares students for their future.
