Acting career
Aiello was the son of actor Danny Aiello (1933–2019). One of his most prominent roles was alongside his father, who starred in the 1989 Spike Lee film “Do the Right Thing.” The younger Aiello played Officer Gary Long, the police officer who kills Radio Raheem in “Do the Right Thing.” He went on to play the same role again in Lee’s 1991 movie “Jungle Fever.” In David Lynch’s 1992 film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me,” Aiello played Deputy Cliff Howard.” Aiello also made many TV appearances, including “The Sopranos,” “Sex and the City,” and “Ugly Betty,” as well as starring with his father in the short-lived 1997 CBS crime drama, “Dellaventura.”
