Tough-tackling Richard Dunne, who was a fan’s favourite at every club he played for, retired from playing in 2015 after he was released by Queens Park Rangers.

Over a 19-year professional career he made over 500 first-team appearances for four clubs and won Manchester City’s Player of the Year for four consecutive years between 2004 and 2008.

He also won 80 international caps for the Republic of Ireland and was a member of the squad which went to the 2002 FIFA World Cup Finals and the 2012 UEFA European Championships.
