Revenge: Meteor (Recap/Review)

Revenge

RevengeIt is safe to say that the Meteor episode was one of the most anticipated episodes of Revenge, since the viewers knew that Emily and David will finally reunite. ABC released a promo trailer earlier this week, announcing that the time has come for Ems to find out that her father is still alive and well.

After Emily was attacked, she and Nolan check the security tapes, but they are unable to see the perpetrator. Nolan urges her to go and report the incident, however Ems does not want to involve the police. She believes that Victoria might have been the one who hired someone to kill her or that her sister wanted to finish the job she started at the Stowaway. Since Ems does not want to see Charlotte involved into some police investigation, she tells Nolan that they will deal with this without police.

Meanwhile, David returns back to the cabin and Victoria is freaking out when she finds out that he tried to kill Emily. Well, she is not so worried for her well-being, she is afraid that Ems saw David. However, he tells Vicky that no one saw him, but that does not comfort her. She heads back to the city and it looks like David is planning something. He takes a chain and starts hitting his back with it. It looks like he completely lost his mind.

Nolan obviously decided that it is time to act, since Ben and Jack pay Emily a visit. Her friend reported the break-in to the police and they came to take her statement. Even though she refuses to tell everything, Nolan tells Jack that the intruder had a knife and he wanted to hurt Ems. After Jack gets a minute in private with Emily, he tells her that if Victoria indeed planned the attack, they can take her down legitimately, which also means that they would save Charlotte from her. However, Jack makes it very clear that he will arrest Emily if Victoria turns up hurt or dead.

Louise is developing her plan, as she keeps on seducing poor Daniel. He still believes that she hired him strictly for business, however, it appears that she is actually targeting Victoria. First, Louise hits on Daniel by the pool and then she pays him a visit at his hotel suite later that day. Not only she buys him a sinfully expensive bottle of champagne, she also brings him a gift. Well, it looks like her plan is in motion and it will be interesting to see what kind of surprise she is preparing for Vicky.

David gets arrested for trying to steal something and as he is brought to the police station, Ben notices that he is limping. Since the man, who attacked Emily probably limps, due to his jump from the balcony, Ben immediately calls Ems, to come and identity the attacker. Jack is preparing the line-up and he is shocked when he sees David standing there, alive and well. He cannot warn Emily, because the rules prohibit him to speak with the witness before the line-up process. Emily walks into the room and all five men enter. There are no words to describe the look on Emily’s face when David is called to step forward and as she recognizes her father, her eyes are immediately full of tears. She just stands there and watches David, like he is a ghost. Ems tells Ben that this is not the man who attacked her and she runs out. Nolan is already in front of the police station and he is terrified when he sees Emily in tears. When she finally tells him that her father is alive, Nolan is shocked. Jack also comes out and tells Ems that the fingerprints results came back and they match with the ones of David Clarke. Emily wants to see her father, however, FBI arrives there and nobody is allowed to enter the police station.

When Victoria finds out that David was arrested, she gets him a layer. However, David tells the FBI that Conrad planed his escape from prison and that he is the one who held him captive for 10 years. Once he shows the wounds on his back, it becomes quite clear that this was David’s plan all along. He caused these wounds and got himself arrested just so that he could make up this whole story. David even acts surprised when he learns that Conrad is dead. Soon, media starts reporting about David and they announce that he will be giving a statement in an hour. Emily decides that she will go there and face her father, however, she is shocked when Vicky and Charlotte join David in front of the reporters. It looks like Victoria won this time and as she gives her speech how David is happy to be with his family, Vicky looks right at Emily, who is devastated. Yes, Victoria got to David first and she is the one who has the advantage now.

Despite the fact that the eagerly awaited moment of David’s and Emily’s reunion did happen, the Meteor episode of Revenge was disappointing. David still does not know that Emily is Amanda, which means that he is still convinced that his daughter is dead. The viewers probably expected that they will get a chance to talk, but that did not happen. Ems just stood there and watched Vicky celebrate her victory in such a gross way. Well, this was a huge disappointment, since Emily should be running like crazy and screaming that she is Amanda. The fact is that Victoria, Charlotte, Nolan and Jack already know who she is, so every advantage that Ems had is gone and she would lose nothing if she told her father who she is. However, now she lost one major battle, because David is still in Vicky’s claws and she will most certainly do her best to keep him and Emily apart.

  1. Yes!! every other reviewer is saying that David has a plan up his sleeve but I REALLY don’t see that. I completely agree w/this:
