Excellent restaurant. Wonderful wonderful place to experience. Fabulous food, such as lamb chops, snails and delicious rabbit. (and great homemade deserts). The best rabbit ever! Beautiful historic building. A favorite place of mine in Barcelona. Fun, attentive, and kind waiters/owners. Highly recommend this restaurant. Restaurante...fabuloso en Barcelona. Comida perfecta. 5 estrellas!!More

Great meal here last week with local friends. Definite must-visit for those wanting the traditional Catalan meal. Meat heavy menu but still lots of options for vegans/vegetarians. Staff very happy to accomodate. Great value as well!

This was one of the best meals we had in Spain. While you wait to be shown to your table you are invited to sample a glass of wine from the barrels in the entrance hall. We started with some appetizers and as suggested we...had the rabbit as main. The rabbit was cooked to perfection and we finished our dinner with some yummy puddings. This place is a nice change away from the restaurant touts you will find around the Rambla.More

Someone had recommended this restaurant to us so we were excited to go. A bit out in the middle of nowhere so just give the address to a taxi driver. They don't open til 9pm so don't go any earlier! We went at 8.30 and...we just waited in the wine cellar until 9pm. There were a few others too. In the wine cellar you are given a small tasting glass and 4 wines to taste out of the barrels. It is fun but i guess I had imagined choosing the wines to taste, but there are just 4 barrels to try. Anyway that part is free so shouldn't complain. I had high hopes for the evening at this point. The menu was odd. Set out in a bizzarre way so you couldn't be sure you were ordering the right number of dishes in the right order! We had sardines to begin which we're good, we also had veal skewer which was horrible - so dry and tasteless. For main we had rabbit with garlic and onions which I believe was a good choice but the rabbit was all on the bone so you can't be fussy! We also had lamb chops and a full roasted artichoke, it was all over cooked and dry. These were really the only two choices for main course so we sort of just went with it. Anyway in theory I think this place sounds good but I'm not sure it's worth the taxi fare.More

It may sound strange, but a place that does authentic, local home cooking is a rare find in Barcelona. Wheb you go looking for indigenous cuisine, most places out here do a generic Spanish cuisine. But Can Margarit feels authentic from the first look. The...welcome is great, you'll enter a preserved 'taberna' where time seems to have stopped, lined with wine casks that you can have a tasting from - and then be seated in an area that used to be a patio and is decorated with old tools and trinkets and oozes home-made charm. The menu offers local classics, the same food a Catalan family might enjoy on a Sunday. The key here is simplicity. The owners are friendly yet straightforward, the setting simple and the service lightning fast (unless you arrive at peak time). Try the white beans with garlic, and the signature rabbit roast. It was a real pleasure to discover this place, give it a chance and I think you won't regret it. Recommended.More

We went here as a large group dinner, and I must say i did not was enjoy a single bit of the restaurant. Not a place I will return to. The server was terrible in all senses, not very kind, slow, and he completely abandoned...us for the most of the time. I'm sure we would have had double as many beers if he had come by... Their loss... Food wise, not a lot better. The menu is short and not exciting at all. As main course basically there's 4 items, and only the rabbit worth eating. The appetizers were average. Positives? The location is ok, in the Poble Sec area, not quite tourist infested yet. Also good is that while you wait for the table you have "all you can drink" wine directly from the barrel (terrible wine quality, though).More

We went here with friends for a late night dinner and we got a nice surprise. The place had a nice ambience and the service (and wine tasting) was good. Huge portions of food in rustic cellar lime surroundings. Worth a visit.

Make sure you reserve a table weeks before as this restaurant is by appointment only. Good local delicacies. Nice atmosphere to enjoy with good friends. Let the waiters help you decide what to eat. Excellent home made desserts.

They have a limited menu, but everything is so good. The setting is really nice and charming with barrels of wine kept in the entrance. Of course, their signature rabbit is the star. A safe choice place for us to take friends and family visiting...Barcelona.More

We stumbled on this lovely place which gives nothing away on the outside as to the delights within. The food has hearty, large portions. The atmosphere is convivial and the room is so charming and romantic- candlelight, giant wine casks... super cool. I had a...fabulous tarte tartin for dessert. The only odd thing is that the ice cream came in its plastic tub? It was really bizarre but never mind.. everything else was great and I would definitely recommend...More

After searching up somewhere to have our last meal in Barcelona we decided after reading many good reviews to eat here. Yes you get a SMALL glass of free wine on arrival but it's not very drinkable if you like wine. Then we ordered the...rabbit and lamb. My poor partner was up all night with an upset tummy! The staff were very friendly and the building was amazing but so let down by the food for us.More

I've been to Taverna Can Margarit few days ago with some friends of mine. We arrived there quite late at night (around 09:45 pm) and the place was supposed to close at 11pm. My girlfriend and I arrived first and as we got inside the...owner welcomed us very gently offering us a glass and inviting us to try their own wines (sweet red; dry red; sweet white and dry white). As per their costume, I tried all of them serving myself from the barrels. The rest of our friends did the same and so we took a seat together and started our dinner. After going through their various menu, we had a selection of local salami (including the local Fuet which was really good); sausage with aubergines and peppers on a side; fried pulpo with lemon; baked rabbit with onions and garlics (it's the house special). And of course we choose one of the wines previously mentioned. As for the dessert, we had an orange cake and chocolate cake. Both very good. As a gesture of courtesy the owner offered us a digestive, a very smooth liquor which I can't recall the name of (sorry). A special mention goes to the service. Although it was very late the waiter didn't show any impatience. He was actually very kind and considerate during the whole dinner. I would definitely recommend this place both for the food and the experience.More

We came an hour late and tried to apologize and see if we could still have dinner. The guy at the door was really rude and arrogant. He yelled we should wait in the waiting area. We had a sip of the horrible free wine...and decided to leave this super tourist trap.More

Hi sorry I don’t know, I do know it’s very Catalan that usually implies lots of meat, which was the attraction for us.
