Now this is how you honour an icon. Probably one of the best documentaries I’ve seen about Marilyn, 4 episodes, beautifully narrated by the lovely Jessica Chastain. I had a smile on my face almost the entire runtime.
It takes a look at Marilyn’s life, it shows both the good and the bad, the tragedy of her life but also a celebration of all the great things about Marilyn, hence the titled, Reframed. can't recommend this incredible docu-series enough and it really affirms how much of a complete and utter waste Blonde was. it's heinous. Marilyn accomplished and went through so much in her lifetime and deserves so much more recognition and respect than what she has been given
loved the choice of a female director and the choice to feature all women speakers. i knew a lot of the ground the series covers, but i loved seeing the way the doc was put together. haunted by the home video footage of young marilyn before her career had even begun. posing in the front yard of her home, in a fancy dress with a big smile.
really felt amy greene-andrews anger at the conspiracy theories surrounding marilyn's death. addicts die. that's the tragedy of her death, not any conspiracy involving the mob or the kennedy's.
This is the only documentary I’ve watched about Marilyn Monroe that doesn’t feel predatory and exploitative. The narrative that we are often told is that Marilyn was a passive and perpetual victim of her life, who still continues to be exploited even in her death.

Successful in its mission to take the familiar stories and turn them around to make Monroe more of the center of her own tale, rather than rely on gossip, scandal, or outside perception. It's dry at times, but vindicates the legend as being more of a master of her own destiny than previous accounts would have us believe.

I loved this so much. A fresh take on Marilyn Monroe’s well-renowned and truly remarkable story! Her childhood, her rise to fame, her movies, her looks, and her production company in which she took back control of her own life.
In the past, her story has predominantly been told from men, so it was very inspiring to see this one be entirely voiced by women.
We need more documentaries about women to be directed, produced, and narrated by women.
Marilyn Monroe was and is a bad ass lady that unfortunately had a tradgic end. This doc was full of pics/behind the scenes/stories that I never seen or heard of.
