This museum was the best kind of hands-on history experience. The transit section especially was a favorite. You get to explore hundreds of years of transportation history and there's all kinds of interactive elements. It feels like a museum from the 1970s or 80s in the best way! A couple screens, but way more physical elements than technological bells and whistles. The surfing simulation machine upstairs seemed to not work correctly, but the gaming system in the tech room still worked.

I appreciated hearing music from many cultures in the immigrant experience section and learning more about the Indigenous peoples of this area as well. There were a few other elements that felt a bit random (why are there so many miniature boats? Why is is there a room about law enforcement?) but overall it was a very pleasant hour or two. Even not being a sports fan or person from the area, I enjoyed perusing the profiles of sports people in the halls upstairs—there were some Olympians, but mostly people who say, coached a team for a couple of decades.

Overall, just felt like a nice celebration of regular people—how we get travel and get to work and the cultural traditions we carry on.

Nice trail with a gift to finish. 1.5miles one way to the top - scenic view of Redwoods city. You can see the fog on top of the mountain. Nice a bit uphill trails & cool breeze.

This is a peaceful place to visit. You can easily get removed from the humdrum of life here. I ca see how others find it photogenic.

You don't have to be from Redwood City to enjoy this park but it offers a complete package for those who decide to visit. Picnic areas, multiple ball fields, large open lawn areas, outdoor swimming pool, seniors center, etc. Wonderful place for kids birthday parties.

Wide open space just to walk around and get some exercise.

We went to Russian Ridge Open Space Preserve. There are nice views of the hills and distant views of Pacific Ocean. Its a good place for a hike and enjoying the views. There is also a tribute to Audrey C. Rust, who was the President of the Peninsula Open Space and helped to get much of this land available for public use.

The Bair Island Wildlife Refuge & Trail is just off of Whipple Avenue in Redwood City. Follow Whipple Avenue around past the car dealers and park in the lot at Bair Island Marina, then just cross the road and go across a small bridge to cross the slough. The trail is flat and runs along the slough, so you can see birds and occasionally other small wildlife. Small planes destined to San Carlos airport cross overhead, and you can see highway 101 in the distance but the trail is far enough to avoid the freeway noise. There are several park signs along the way and a couple of elevated boardwalks to give you a higher perspective over the marshland. This is a nice flat trail for a peaceful walk when I don't want to take the time to head up the hill to one of the many parks and trails in the foothills.

We’ve been coming here for years. It’s a long hike up to the off leash area, but once there the dogs love it. Plus it’s beautiful. The current downside is ticks. The place is exploded with them. I’m waiting until summer and hopefully it will die down by then. In the mean time I take the dog to Stulstaff park which also has off leash.

Bay Club is a terrific place to workout, get a meal and also arrange special events. The access to all the Bay Clubs and the Capital Club in San Jose is an added plus.

Saw this and decided to stop by because of sidewalk display. Saw many colorful pieces of art. Very creative. The artist was very friendly and described the messages of his work. Nice to see a new local business in the former computer site.

First, yes, it is beautiful. Worth it.

Second, be prepared as it is a cup shaped back and forth hike with some difficult climbs at the far end and then on the return. To wit --- the return ends with a 0.5 mile climbs that, well, you should be ready for.

The view was great, the breezes wonderful, the trail well maintained and the drive --- we used 9 to 35, very pleasant.

Theatreworks has its headquarters in Redwood City but no plays are performed there. The company does the bulk of its productions in the excellent Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts (Mountain View) and the rest at the Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto. I have had a season subscription for years because the majority of their plays are of high quality. Most of the productions are musicals but a few are not, and the casting and production staff are the best in the area. I have seen new plays and works that are not done very often (but should be) that are artistic triumphs. It's no wonder this company is very popular in the south Bay Area.
