“Rumor Has It” Reba is getting serious with a new man.
Reba McEntire, 65, took her relationship with Rex Linn public when she attended the 2020 CMA Awards with the 63-year-old actor on Wednesday, nearly a month after she first revealed they were dating.
Here’s what you need to know about the country singer’s boyfriend.
1. He’s a TV and movie actor
Linn has a long-spanning acting career that dates back to the ’80s.
He is known for his recurring role as Frank Tripp in the popular television series “CSI: Miami.”
The actor revealed that he was told the role would be a one-time part and so he refused to audition, however, his agent tricked him into trying out for the part and he landed it one hour later, The Oklahoman reported in 2004.
Linn has starred in other major shows and movies as well including “Django Unchained,” “Lethal Weapon,” “Nashville,” “Better Call Saul,” and “Young Sheldon.”
2. He’s a proud Texan
Linn is originally from Texas and is proud of his roots. He is even a die-hard fan of the University of Texas Longhorns football team.
“I grew up in a little town called Spearman, Texas. My dad turned me into a Longhorn when I was about two years old. That’s as simple as it gets. I’ve been a Longhorn ever since,” he said in a 2009 interview with Texas Sports.
However, he and his family relocated to Oaklahoma when he was a young teen, which happens to be the same state where McEntire grew up. Coincidence? We think not.
3. His first career was not in Hollywood
Linn always had a passion for acting, but started in another field.
He worked as a loan officer for two banks in Oklahoma City and later oversaw oil field operations in western Oklahoma, he said in an interview with Oklahoma State University.
But he never fully gave up on his dream of being on screen and convinced an agent to take a chance on him and began auditioning for small roles.
4. He likes to hunt and he’s an animal lover
Linn enjoys the sport of hunting.
The actor reportedly leads duck, goose, and turkey hunts around Oklahoma.
He is also the 1986 Oklahoma State Duck Calling Champion, according to The Oklahoman.
Extremely passionate about his hobby, he even listed the title on his acting resume.
But along with his passion for hunting, he also loves animals.
He has two dogs and is even raising chickens with McEntire.
5. He’s mad about Reba
Linn hasn’t been shy about his feelings for McEntire.
The actor has posted on social media gushing over the country singer several times.
“❤️❤️TATER TOT. Angel on the ground (and on a cooler). @reba,” he captioned a pic of him and McEntire cozied up on a beer cooler.
He posted another photo where he is seen embracing her while out to dinner. He wrote, “Had a fantastic dinner with this Oklahoma girl. Tater Tots and Ketchup included. @reba”
Now the only one question remains … what’s his obsession with tater tots?
