Dani Ceballos is doing everything possible to ensure he extends his stay with Real Madrid. His efforts seem to being dividends with the club now debating about giving him a contract extension, something that seemed improbable just 10 days ago.

In fact, that powers that be at the club did not include the midfielder in their plans for next season despite Ceballos impressing new Spain boss, Luis de la Fuente, who regularly used the Real Madrid man at the Tokyo Games.

The former Real Betis player is now convinced that he is on the right track. Such is his confidence that he feels strong enough to turn his back on the important offers that have been coming his way in recent days, especially from the Premier League.

A real option

While Ceballos' contractual situation allows him to negotiate with other clubs, the player is adamant about continuing with Real Madrid.

"I'm at the best club in the world and I want to stay here," Ceballos has stated.

While the directors at the Spanish club were keen to move him on during the summer, they have now softened their stance and acknowledge that the Andalusian's recent performances could be good for Real Madrid with Ceballos making it clear he can contribute given the right opportunities.

Ceballos himself has stated that he is currently enjoying the best form of his career at Real Madrid.

Confidence and minutes

With Ceballos' current popularity among the Madridistas, the chances of leaving in the January transfer window have completely reduced, not just because of the injuries suffered by Ancelotti's squad, but because of the conviction of what he can bring to the team now and during the decisive stretch of the season.

It should be remembered that Ceballos was one of the players who took to the field in the final against Liverpool in Paris, which shows the confidence that Carlo Ancelotti has in the midfielder. The difference is that this confidence is now being translated into minutes and moments of great importance for the future of Real Madrid.
