What is Ratched about?
The series follows Mildred Ratched, a nurse who applies for a job at a psychiatric hospital, and she’s not taking no for an answer. Mildred is willing to do whatever it takes to be hired as a nurse as she has a very strong motive.
Once she lands the job, she’s shocked to discover some of the methods nurses use on patience. Will she participate or stand up for them?
Is it based on a true story?
The Netflix series is not based on a true story or real-life people, but it is an adaptation of the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey, which was also adapted into a movie that stars Louise Fletcher as (Mildred Ratched) and Jack Nicholson.
The novel and movie are not the same as the Ryan Murphy series
Ratched on Netflix serves as a sequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. In the original work, we meet an evil and corrupted nurse. But in the series, she has not yet been broken. Instead, we get to see her journey.

Will there be a second season?
Yes! Sarah Paulson has already teased that there is a second season happening. Filming has not yet started for the upcoming season as both Ryan Murphy and Sarah Paulson have other things in the works, but it’s definitely happening.
