Beautiful. Such a great musician in a great band, but we forget his own legacy as an artist. Sly, bemused, complicated, grimly humorous, and brilliant.
I take it that this won't be released on streaming services? I'm still gutted that none of John's solo work is on spotify at all.
Since they mention CD only, I expect that will be it. I agree, I would like John's music on streaming as well. But, as we all know, streaming doesn't pay anything. However, it's not as though I can go out and buy any of John's CDs either. Everything is out of print. This is a big problem.
is it me or is this kind of a terrible album cover?
It's not my favorite either. I imagine there is little to no budget for this release. I think going the way of something like Steeplechase, the low budget jazz label, would be perfect: A simple black and white photo of the man in action.
They did that cover for his anthology album.
It looks like Chris his son has provided a lot of the props and ideas for the album ,I think the spade is also a reference to a Monkey Puzzle tree that John tried to help plant prior to leaving his home to embark on the U.S tour .
I bet John would've liked it.
It’s a bit on the nose, but I like the macabre element and I think you’re right about John liking it as well.
Where’d you get that pic of the skeleton suit unworn?
It's part of the cover...
More than likely via his son Chris , as far as I know he has it .
