- ps NOT REGARDING THIS RELEASE i wanted to note i was in japan last 15 years back in a great cd bootleg shop & saw a 2 CDR set of demos from the to late the hero 1980/81 recording sessions w/ joe walsh but i did not buy it as in usd it would have costed around 80.00 usd and i would not spend that on a crap cdr, if it had been silver factory sealed i would own this now for 15 years... still wondering what those demos sound like???? maybe a label can get together w/ johns estate & joe walsh and the album can be deluxed????????? just a wish..
- this is a decent collection of stuff john was doing with his band recorded back in the second half of the 1990s.... some of these tracks are heavy and really good, that is why the ox was my favorite who member BUT the songwriting i felt had declined for john since his 70s solo albums ( esp smash your head 71) & whystle rhymes (72) but i was unware of some things regardings johns state & health issues back in the 90s i only learned about in recent years so i feel in my opinion that is what effected these recordings unlike his 70s stuff in general as well as the to late the hero collaboration w/ joe walsh in 1981..... if you are a fan of the ox like i still am this is well worth getting!!!!! i wish this had come with a booklet and info regarding the recordings more but maybe the label did not give steve the choice to get that in here, anyway its still a nice digi pack set w/ great sound!!!
