Matches Include:
vs. Johnny Spade - This was originally scheduled to be a handicap match against Mark Henry but he refused to wrestle & made his opponents in Orton & Spade wrestle each other briefly before attacking both men in what was more of a segment than a match but only relevant for being Orton's television debut.
"OVW" June '00
vs. Flash Flanagan - Orton showcased a lot of various offense here from his athletic ability from different dropkicks to power with various slams along with wrestling ability such as a suplex from a slingshot position while Flanagan was able to get some offense in being able to counter some of Orton's offense in a solid exibition for Orton.
Pre-"RAW" Apr. '01
vs. Prototype (John Cena) - Orton displayed his power & athleticism early on only for Prototype to show his superior power including tossing him across the ring only for Orton to come back with more power offense of his own along with something straight out of his own father's playbook in what was a solid exchange from two future rivals.
"OVW" June '01
vs. WWE Undisputed Champion Undertaker - Orton received his first ever WWE Championship Match a month after he debuted with Taker taking him lightly due to being a rookie allowing Orton to catch him off guard with various offense taking Taker off his feet multiple times before Taker was not only able to get the momentum back in his favor but be more focused on punishing him than winning the match only for some of his tactics to not work in his favor in what was Orton's most impressive showing to this point in his career.
"SmackDown" May '02
Elimination Tag Team Match w/Evolution (Triple H & Ric Flair) vs. Dudley Boyz (D-Von, Bubba Ray, Spike) - This was action from start to finish as expected in a team elimination match where both teams were able to apply their various signature moves at one time or another but this was all about establishing Evolution as the dominant faction for the future on RAW but it didn't come easy as one member was bleeding when it was over.
"RAW" July '03
[Top 50 Finishing Moves; Wrestling's Greatest Factions]
Intercontinental Championship Match vs. Chris Jericho - Jericho received his title shot in his hometown through the most unusual circumstances as they went back & forth early with Jericho using his trademark offense only for Orton to take advantage of distractions along with dirty tactics to heavily focus on a part of the body as they continued to go back & forth using their opponents momentum against each other in a competitive match.
"RAW" July '04
vs. Intercontinental Champion Edge - This was the rematch from the previous Vengeance PPV that saw Orton heavily focus on Edge's head with moves like a chinlock & even backdropping Edge on the security barrier with his head to hit the floor in the audience that caused his mouth to bleed. This match got real competitive as it went on with moments like Edge getting his receipt with the security barrier later on, both men attempting a crossbody block only to have a mid-air collision, both men taking each others signature moves only to keep coming, and one man having to steal a page out of the others playbook to get the victory. While this wasn't as long as their PPV match, this was more aggressive.
"RAW" July '04
[You Think You Know Me?: The Story Of Edge]
vs. Triple H - Bischoff forced Triple H into this match after the show ended as he kept trying to stall & go to the outside to prevent Orton from gaining any momentum before Orton was able to finally get offense in before Triple H was able to use Orton's momentum against him & take shortcuts in & out of the ring to wear him down as both men traded momentum with Orton using a dirty tactic of his own at one point in what was a good back & forth match that had some fun elements that we wouldn't normally get on television.
Post-"RAW" Dec. '04
World Tag Team Champions Rated RKO vs. The Hardys - This was the Hardys' first tag match on RAW in over four years as the Hardys were very fast paced using combinations both as a team & individually while Rated RKO attempted to control the offense in their favor by grounding their opponents & keeping them in their half of the ring while taking advantage of the Hardys' high risk offense not paying off in a solid tag team match.
"RAW" Nov. '06
WWE Championship Match vs. Shawn Michaels - Shawn Michaels was looking for revenge against the man who put him out of action for months with the stipulations that Shawn would be disqualified if he used "Sweet Chin Music" but Orton would lose the championship on a disqualification. Shawn had the early advantage controlling a part of the body relentlessly despite attempts to escape along with working other offense to keep him grounded on the mat before Orton resorted to illegal tactics to work over Shawn's previously injured head & utilizing some of the same offense used on him as they traded momentum throughout the match with "sweet chin music" coming into play by Shawn by either instinct or a fake out along with utilizing other holds such as different submissions & counters with Orton either having explosive offense to stop Shawn's momentum dead or continuing to use any tactic possible such as the ringside environment to his advantage.
Survivor Series '07
[Shawn Michaels: My Journey]
WWE Championship Match vs. Jeff Hardy - A "champion vs. champion" encounter as Hardy started off very fast paced with various dropkicks & aerial moves that bounced his opponent's head off different areas of ringside before Orton was able to catch him & slow the pace down using illegal tactics & grounding him as they went back & forth with Hardy being able to use Orton's momentum against him along with his trademark offense while Orton as able to avoid & counter Hardy and continue to slow down the pace keeping him on the mat in a great back & forth match.
Royal Rumble '08
[Jeff Hardy: My Life, My Rules]
Last Man Standing Match vs. C.M. Punk - Before the match got started, the RAW GM banned the New Nexus from ringside. Both men took this brawl to the floor early before kendo sticks were pulled & used by both men. At one point a chair was wedged in one of the corners of the ring to where Orton threw Punk into with so more force that he went through the chair onto the outside while later wearing it as a necktie when Punk threw him headfirst into the ringpost. At times both men were beaten so badly that they barely made it up by the 10 count with moves like the RKO on the announce table (that didn't give), a GTS onto the steel steps, and another RKO from the top rope. This was the third match in their series & just like the others, this didn't disappoint.
Extreme Rules '11
vs. Dolph Ziggler - It should be noted this was the first episode of the RAW Supershow with SmackDown talents now competing on RAW & a non-title "champion vs. champion" match as Orton was the World Champion while Dolph held the United States Title. Both men went back & forth early before Dolph was able to get the momentum taking advantage of the ringside environment keeping Orton grounded while Orton was able to hit some impactful & innovative offense of his own as they continued to have various counters to the maneuvers of their opponent throughout the rest of the match coming down to one man finally being able to catch the other in a back & forth encounter.
"RAW" Aug. '11
World Championship/Steel Cage Match vs. Christian - This was the final encounter between these two for the World Championship as Christian kept trying to escape early & even tried to come off the top rope onto Orton only to be caught with a dropkick in mid-air but Christian brought the fight to Orton using the cage to his advantage with a backdrop into the cage & grinding his face against it with his feet but Orton was able to use Christian's momentum against him causing him to hit the cage & even delivering a superplex that hurt himself as much as Christian. Both men traded momentum throughout the match including one moment where they were both fighting at the top of the cage at one point while Christian continued to avoid the RKO throughout the match. This wasn't the classic encounter that we got from their previous matches in the year but still a quality encounter.
"SmackDown" Aug. '11
[Best Of RAW & SmackDown '11]
Money In The Bank Ladder Match vs. C.M. Punk vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus vs. Christian vs. Rob Van Dam - This match was subtitled "All-Stars" with everyone in the match being former WWE/World Champions with each one having experience in Ladder Matches including a few past M.I.T.B. winners which told multiple stories such as the participants teaming up to take out who they felt were the biggest threats right off the bat, the face off between Punk & Bryan, RVD's dominance such as the Rolling Thunder on a ladder, Christian finding Hornswoggle's ladder, Sheamus' crash & burn fall, all 6 men on 2 ladders at the same time (as seen on the DVD cover), Sheamus hanging from the case, the return of the 5 Star Frog Splash...from the top of a ladder, Daniel Bryan having a moment of dominance, Sheamus breaking the ladder in half, a mid-air RKO, and the appearance of C.M. Punk's "associates." This was no different than the previous Money In The Bank match earlier in the night that you got all the action that you would expect from this match with multiple men telling multiple stories but I have to give extra credit to the M.V.P. of the match being Sheamus as he took the biggest & hardest bumps throughout the match.
Money In The Bank '13
[Straight To The Top: Money In The Bank Anthology]
WWE Championship Unification/T.L.C. Match vs. World Champion John Cena - You saw the effect of the match stipulation early when a ladder was rammed into Orton that caused him to show heavy pain in his elbow with the action not letting up from there with such highlights as both men delivering chairshots across the body, more weapons used including the ringside steps & microphone & handcuffs, trademark maneuvers delivered off the ladder, and bodies going through tables. This was the type of match expected from this stipulation as they used plenty of weapons, physical brawling, some hard hitting spots, and intense action from start to finish with the CLEAN non-controversial finish we haven't had in months.
T.L.C.: Tables, Ladders, Chairs '13
vs. Dean Ambrose - Ambrose came into this match with a shoulder injury which Orton targeted along with using tactics from various strikes & stretches to taking advantage of his surroundings to the point where Dean was showing the effects but kept fighting back being able to counter & use Orton's own momentum against him as both men used the ringside environment to their own advantage in what came out to one man being able to catch the other.
"RAW" July '14
vs. Seth Rollins - Orton started off explosive with uppercuts & clotheslines while Rollins attempted to use J&J Security to his advantage while executing offense such as a suicide dive as they traded momentum with each man countering the other's signature offense along with having similar strategies such as going aerial from either the top rope or a springboard position & both men using their opponents momentum against them along with one of the most memorable RKO's I can ever remember in what was definitely the best "wrestling" match of the night.
WrestleMania 31
vs. Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro - The winner of this match would receive a title match against WWE Champion Seth Rollins later in the night as this match had some highlights such as one man was the odd man out early on with both focusing on him only to take a shot at each other whenever he was out of the picture, the match being taken to the outside with everyone using the environment ot his advantage, everyone using their signature maneuvers including some on both opponents at one, short-term alliances being formed, and everyone at one point using an aerial assault against their opponents in a competitive match.
"RAW" Aug. '15
(Blu-Ray) Intercontinental Championship Match vs. Shelton Benjamin - Orton has having a backstage interview when he didn't like the reaction the crowd had for him causing him to eventually berate them from backstage through the crowd into the ring before Shelton arrived to start the match early taking the fight right to him constantly catching him off guard & using his momentum against him as Orton was able to gain some traction avoiding a big move slowing the pace down & keeping him grounded along with some innovative offense such as a backbreaker into a neckbreaker as both men went back & forth trading fist & executing aerial offense as one man attempted to take advantage of a distraction only for it to keep working against him as it ultimately came down to who was able to catch the other.
Bad Blood '04
(Blu-Ray) No Holds Barred Match vs. World Champion Christian - Before the match, we get a special treat as Edge returned to confront Christian about his actions over the previous weeks. Christian was in control early but tried to run away when Orton regained the advantage only for Orton to chase him into the crowd & dish out punishment there. The fans had dueling chants as a kendo stick came into play causing Orton to bleed from the mouth before he caught Christian in mid-air with a dropkick. Orton pulled out & setup tables which Christian was superplexed onto one that was laid out on the ring mat. They exchanged their signature moves with Orton delivering an RKO though the announce table while Christian delivering a Killswitch in the ring but it was when Christian once again showed the ultimate sign of disrespect that sent Orton's anger into overdrive involving a chair, trash can, table, and the steel steps. This match ranks right up there with their first two matches in this series as a high quality encounter as Christian was able to pull more out of Orton than most were able to do.
SummerSlam '11
[Best PPV Matches Of 2011]
(Blu-Ray) vs. Damien Sandow - Randy Orton made his first (and only) appearance on NXT as he was in control staying a step ahead & catching his opponent working him & countering his offense into his own while Sandow was able to escape & counter Orton's offense attempting to keep Orton grounded in a solid back & forth match.
"NXT" Mar. '13
(Blu-Ray) w/Team Hell No vs. The Shield - Both teams traded momentum early on with each team playing to each other's individual strengths weather it was power or athleticism or mat-wrestling skills as The Shield kept attempting to singling out one opponent at a time staying in their half to the ring & taking shortcuts when possible while Orton & Kane & Bryan continued to bring the fight to them taking out either one or more members at a time as it eventually came down to one team being able to catch & keep down one of their opponents while isolating his partners in a competitive back & forth encounter resulting in something that had never previously happened.
"SmackDown" June '13
I liked that this set had a mix of his lesser known & more recent pay per view matches to rare & overlooked televised matches including some never seen before. There only real negatives I can state is that as you see his entire "Age Of Orton" period & his career with Legacy from 2009-2010 was ignored while I would have loved to see other matches picked that are rare/forgotten (against Wade Barrett that had them fighting backstage including security footage of them in the elevator on SmackDown, No Disqualification & Last Man Standing/Street Fight matches against either Triple H or Kane on RAW/SmackDown, Undertaker or Falls Count Anywhere vs. Alberto Del Rio from SmackDown, ect.) but overall can't deny the quality is there & highlights most of the different stages in his career so it's worth checking out for Randy Orton fans.

The matches are are all from either events like WrestleMania, SummerSlam or in one case a dark match with a virtual unknown. This is a set for any die hard Randy Orton fans or anyone who loves the dynamics of this man's wrestling.
