Even Harrison Ford could not save the dull plot and the slow pacing of the movie.

Rick C One of those times where the sum of the parts is more than the whole. At 2:12, the movie is 1:30 too long. I counted at least 9 actors that tapped into youthful nostalgia in a "where were they then" kind of way. Glad to see this movie didn't taint anyone's careers. Story's premise has promise, but not well developed and secondary storylines felt like filler. Pollack mailed this in like a kid cramming for a history final. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/22/23 Full Review Steve D Slow and thinly written. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Calla W One of the most pointless, boring movies I've ever watched. I just looked at my wife and said, "I'm sorry I picked the worst Harrison Ford movie in the history of ever." Do yourself a favor and skip this terrible movie. Geoff Andrew Time Out This might have been tailor-made by director Pollack to ease Ford into more straightforwardly romantic territory. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Rick Groen Globe and Mail Looks more like a case of random minds. Rated: 2/4 Mar 22, 2002 Full Review Susan Stark Detroit News Beyond all its pointless circling around the center, Random Hearts tests audience patience by showing behavior far too long before explaining it. Rated: 2/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Tom Hutchinson Radio Times Sydney Pollack directs with real skill, convincingly portraying the emotional complications of middle-aged passion, and is aided by the marvellous performances of Ford and Scott Thomas. Rated: 3/5 Feb 9, 2024 Full Review Chuck Klosterman Akron Beacon Journal That kind of unorthodox (and perhaps unintentional) undercurrent is precisely what keeps Random Hearts interesting. Time and again, we see people reacting in ways that are unexpected, yet somehow realistic. Rated: 3/4 Oct 30, 2023 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault It’s a big unnecessary rectangle in the dark, that’s what it is, and it takes up entirely too much of our time.
