U.S. News has once again recognized Randolph High School as one of the most prestigious schools in the country ranking RHS in the top 8% of high schools nationally for 2022. Approximately 17,840 public schools were surveyed and evaluated based on their college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance and graduation rate. We are grateful to be recognized for our students’ performance as it is indicative of the success our students’ will have personally and professionally later in life.

“A great high school educates all students from different social and economic backgrounds, exposing them to challenging coursework on the path to graduation. The highest ranked U.S. public schools in U.S. News & World Report's 2022 rankings are those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores in an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions,” U.S. News Chief Data Strategist Robert Morse and Principal Data Analyst Eric Brooks said.

RHS is an inclusive and supportive learning environment, and our staff works diligently, not just to challenge our students intellectually, but to get to know each of them as individuals and encourage them to follow their passions. RHS achieved this ranking based on rigorous criteria including student performance on state and national assessments, college readiness, curriculum, graduation rate and underserved student performance. Rankings are a great way to recognize high performing districts, but they alone do not capture what an outstanding place Randolph High School is. We celebrate this ranking and will continue to succeed and grow as a school community.”

Randolph High School is committed to promoting engagement outside of the classroom between faculty and students. Teachers play a critical role in student development, and these connections can make a significant difference in students' lives. Research has shown that when students have a more engaging teacher, student attendance increases and their chances of completing high school improves.

Many of our faculty serve as club advisors, coaches and mentors. Randolph High School also has a unit lunch where all students and faculty pause classes at the same time. Many students take advantage of this time to engage with teachers beyond the traditional curriculum and attend club meetings. Having this engagement built into the school day creates a supportive environment where students can work towards their individual goals. 

Randolph High School is fortunate to offer a long list of visual and performing arts programs which inspire every student to think differently. Creativity is central to problem solving, supporting an open exchange of ideas and helping students understand a different range of perspectives. Through Music, Art, Theater, Dance and other creative course and extracurricular offerings; we are committed to providing opportunities for students to explore their passions and express themselves in artistic ways. Our learning community has been consistently recognized for artistic excellence. The NAMM Foundation has honored Randolph as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for a total of 16 years since 2003 including 10 consecutive years from 2014 - 2023.

While we are fortunate to have world class faculty, our high school would not be the place that it is without the dedication of our incredible families. Randolph High School is fortunate to have a very supportive Parent Teacher Student Organization that supports our staff through various student initiatives. Additionally, the Randolph Education Foundation, Randolph Rams Athletic Council, the Choir Theater Booster Association, the Band Parents Association, the Randolph String Parent Association, the Dance Booster Association, C.A.M.E.R.A.S. and many others have all made lasting contributions to student and staff programs. 

According to the National Center for Educational Accountability, an AP exam score of a 3 or higher is a strong predictor of a student’s ability to persist in college and earn a bachelor’s degree. Randolph has supported the growth of our advanced placement curriculum for more than a decade and recognizes the role that AP courses can have on college and postgraduate readiness. Randolph High School students had an extraordinary passage rate of 94% on 2020’s AP exams. For the past 5 years in a row, at least 88% of our students have scored a 3 or higher on their exams.

Since 2011, Randolph has seen tremendous growth in the success of its Advanced Placement programs. In addition to our students achieving historic results on their AP Exams this past year, 184 students became AP Scholars. This included 10 AP Capstone Diplomas, 15 National AP Scholars, and 94% of students receiving a 3 or higher on their exam.

Our alumni have and are currently attending some of the world’s most prestigious universities including Princeton University, Columbia University, MIT, Dartmouth College, Cornell University, Rice University, Georgetown University, Duke University, Washington University in St. Louis, Colgate University, Rhode Island School of Design and the United States Naval Academy. These are just a few of the many prestigious institutions our students will attend as they begin the next chapter of their journey as young adults. Attending a U.S. News and World Report top 100 ranked college or university is a trend we see annually, and we are proud that our students have many options to consider academically in their post graduate journey. 

College is not the only pathway students may choose to pursue post graduation, and there are also certainly many exemplary colleges and universities outside of the U.S. News Top 100 rankings. Many of our graduates will also directly enter the workforce, enlist in the military, attend a community college or technical school, or find another calling. No matter what path an individual chooses, our students depart Randolph High School with the leadership abilities to thrive in a complex, interconnected and changing world.
