Rainn Wilson put his whimsical farm in Agoura Hills, CA, on the market in July for $1.7 million. After a month with no nibbles from potential buyers, the actor has knocked $100,000 off the price.

Wilson is beloved for his role as Dwight Schrute on “The Office,” and the listing details for the farm lean in to the famously eccentric character he portrayed. The Southern California home is described as a possible “inspiration for TV’s ‘Dwight’s Beet Farm.'”

However, you won’t find any beets on this half-acre spread. The oasis sits on a gated lot in old Agoura and is filled with mature trees and plenty of room to run with pigs, dogs, and horses.

The rustic, yet refined, property is equipped to board three horses and has a barn, tack facilities, and other accoutrements for horse lovers.

The three-bedroom main house was built in 1981 and offers over 3,200 square feet of living space.

Inside, you’ll find vintage accents interspersed with bold modern touches. Highlights include a colorful tile backsplash in the kitchen and the pops of bright color used to break up the natural woods throughout the home.

Families working from home will be attracted to the home’s three office spaces, including a detached writer’s office with air conditioning and skylights.

A charming shed built from old barn wood and glass could be used for a variety of purposes.

There’s also a garage, which has been converted into a jam space for musical pursuits. With the garage, shed, and the roomy space for yoga upstairs, this property is defined by its flex spaces, which can create a hideaway tailored to the new owners’ needs.

And despite the home’s sleepy, pastoral vibe, it’s located in a prime slice of Southern California, adjacent to Cheeseboro Canyon and just minutes to Calabasas, Malibu, or Hollywood.

So if you’re in the market for a rural writer’s retreat for the rich and famous, look no farther than this petite little farm. We can only hope there’s a Dwight Schrute bobblehead lurking in one of those closets for the new owners.
