THE LOWDOWN
CADIZ
Cadiz are onto their second manager of the campaign with former Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino replacing Sergio in January. It has been a miserable campaign for the Andalusians as they begin the ‘run-in’ sitting tucked inside the bottom three and the relegation places but still somehow in the mix and still competitive.
They won two of their opening four matches of the campaign but have managed just one win in 25 matches since then. That one win did come earlier this month, though, as they stunned Atletico Madrid by two goals to nil. They followed that up, though, with a 2-0 loss to Real Sociedad in the Basque Country before the March international break.
GRANADA
Much like their regional rivals, Granada are also looking likely to sink down into the second-tier of Spanish football. They come into this one on the back of suffering a slender 1-0 loss to Real Mallorca in the Balearic Islands a couple of weeks ago before the break with Antonio Raillo scoring an 85th minute winning goal in that game.
They have managed just two victories in their 28 matches so far this season as they begin this weekend sitting 13 points adrift of safety with ten matches to go. They are winless in their last nine matches with Jose Ramon Sandoval being appointed at Nuevo Los Carmenes over the international break.
THE TEAM NEWS
CADIZ
Both Maxi Gomez and Fede are missing through injury for this weekend, whilst defender Luis Hernandez and striker Roger Marti are also doubts, too.
PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Ledesma; Carcelen, Ousou, Chust, J. Hernandez; Sobrino, Ruben Alcaraz, Kouame, Navarro; Juanmi, Machis
UNAVAILABLE: Gomez (Injured), Fede (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: L. Hernandez (Injured), Marti (Injured)
GRANADA
Albanian international striker Myrto Uzuni is out through injury this weekend, whilst another attacker, Lucas Boye, is a doubt for the trip to Cadiz.
PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Batalla; Neva, Miquel, Piatkowski, Mendez; Pellistri, Villar, Gerard Gumbau, Jozwiak; Puertas, Boye
UNAVAILABLE: Uzuni (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Boye (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
This is an Andalusian derby and Cadiz supporters are some of the loudest and more hostile fanbases in the country. Having said that, this is also a fixture between two really poor teams that have combined for just 50 goals so far. Granada, though, have pretty much run their race in terms of avoiding the drop whereas Cadiz have a real chance, and not just hope of steering their way clear. Given that, their recent home win against Atletico and home advantage, means they are favourites for this one.
TIP: CADIZ TO WIN
