This record sounds amazing, great dynamics, punch and huge soundstage. One of the best sounding issue I’ve heard. If you find a copy grab it!

Roger Waters without the rest of Pink Floyd. Strong, biting lyrics, without that sound. Still, one of my all-time favorite albums, much more than later Pink Floyd releases without Waters.

'Home,' featuring Clare Torry with vocals as strong as those on 'The Great Gig In The Sky' is the highlight of the track, and the track is the highlight of the entire album.

While it does have sonic stamps that date it to the 80s, the lyrics remain as relevant as when they were penned just with a different cast of characters.

Purchased on release day in 1987 from Turtle's Records (Atlanta). Aside from all of the comments regarding dated production, this is a very solid vinyl pressing. Dead quiet even in the run-in/run-out. Very dynamic and full with wonderful soundstage as you might expect from the Reg. Approaches audiophile territory and is a very rewarding vinyl from an audio perspective. Love to crank it, especially "Who Needs Information". Used prices on Discogs for NM and VG+ rated is pretty substantial going currently for the $40-60 range.

This album is unfairly underrated, even by Roger Waters himself. The history of the tracks is really cool and the lyrics are still relevant and current. Even the arrangements, which at times sound a little dated, remain interesting. I hope the artist revisits this album and values it again in his live performances.

This is "Made in Holland" DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) release, not from France.

Question, I heard this album on Apple Music, it included the voice of the DJ on multiple tracks of him actually talking to Billy. I have the Promo LP and isn't heard. I imagine this wasn't added till later. Is there an LP that includes the DJ's voice? Thanks!

Should the intermission between Who Needs Information and Me Or Him have crackling or did I just buy what was a supposed 'Excellent' condition album and got dudded?

I saw this concert at Great Woods in MA, and as luck would have it we walked right in the night of the show and scored like 12th row center floor. It was a great show, but for me at least the highlights were when he did other material not from this album. This album just never really did it for me, not horrible, but far from his best. Agree with others that say that the sound reeks of 80s production, and if you like that then great!
I recently read an interview with Waters and he said that he should've never made this album, he was pushed too far out of his comfort zone in terms of the production, and the finished product suffered because of it. I tend to agree, again I think it's not terrible but far from his best.

In my probably controversial opinion, this is Roger's best solo work bar none. Real tunes, great production (okay so it's a bit dated but so what) and sounds excellent on CD. Could do with an expanded release to gather up the b-sides and the brilliant extended version of "Radio Waves". Far superior to The Pros and Cons (still can't locate a tune on that one!) and better than anything since too.

This album reminds me of a time capsule where they placed a 50's car in it for 30 years and stated its timeless style was forever. Well as we all know 50's cars have great styling but it was a product of its time. This album reeks of 80's production and sound. Most hate it due to this. I can see why but now that its 30 plus years old the 80's throwback sound is awesome. I think the most damaging part of this album is that its a concept album that is a really lame idea. If it was just about modern life and living in L.A. it would have been received better. Who Needs Information and Me or Him are the best tracks on this album. There are a few others that are ok if you do not take it to seriously. This LP is very good sounding, a solid pressing.
