OK, so it's been over a decade since I've heard the EP -- to be honest, I'm not sure there was ever an actual album. What I do recall is Gary doing a standard pop tune, complete with a catchy chorus with a female vocal backing him up. So, my review is this: if you are a bigtime Numan collector, collect. If not, you're looking at paying a lot for this--- album? or EP. What a horrible critic I am, someone please post some more info on this.
I was not very impressed with the album as a whole. I only bought it for the Numan tracks, which are very 80's pop. Not new wave. It is worth buying if you collect Numan's music, but not if you are looking for an album to listen to.
The stuff with Numan singing is pretty good (radio heart, all across the nation and london times) but not enough to make this essential!
the rest is mediocre 80's pop rock cheese. done well enough but lacking in originality. the nicholson / numan CD is a better bet, let's face it, you only want the Numan stuff anyway don't you!
i understand Gary himself didn't like the fact he was made such a feature of being on the album, given his contribution was relatively small; it does look like they tried to cash-in on his name.
the cd also boasts Ray Cooper and Elton John as special guests, i'm assuming they are playing triangle and wood block respectively because there's nothing distinctive to hear of them!
