Rachel Miner
The critically acclaimed actress Rachel Anne Miner was born on 29th July 1980, in New York City, USA. Although her breakout role in the soap opera “Guiding Light” helped her achieve public prominence, her leading role in the 2001 crime drama film “Bully” elevated her career to new levels. Other notable projects of Rachel’s include her roles in “Penny Dreadful”, “Supernatural”, and “The Black Dahlia”.
Rachel is a third-generation actor; her father is the director and producer Peter Miner, and her grandparents were the director and producer Worthington Miner and actress Frances Fuller. In 1998, Rachel and “Home Alone” star Macaulay Culkin shocked their fans by tying the knot at just eighteen years old. The couple separated two years later, with their divorce being finalized in 2002. Meanwhile, Rachel dated her “Bully” co-star Brad Renfro during and after the movie’s production, despite not being legally divorced.
Many casual fans of Rachel’s mistakenly believe that the actress retired in 2010 after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Career
Rachel’s first credited TV role was playing Michelle Bauer in “Guiding Light”, one of the longest-running dramas in the history of American television. Her portrayal of Michelle, from 1990 to 1995, saw her be nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award, Soap Opera Digest Award, and Young Artist Award. In 1992 and 1994, Rachel won a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a Daytime Series.
As Rachel’s career started off on such a high note, some doubted her longevity in the fickle world of acting. However, the “Bully” star proved them wrong with stellar performances in Woody Allen’s “Alice” and the TV movie “Shining Time Station: ‘Tis A Gift”, as well as minor roles in “Henry Fool” and “Joe the King”. Despite her busy filming schedule, the actress also squeezed in guest starring roles in “Sex and the City” and “American Experience”.
In 2001, Rachel starred in the Larry Clark movie “Bully”, alongside Brad Renfro, Bijou Philips and others. In 2010, Rachel had a starring role alongside James Franco in “Love & Distrust”. Her last movie role was playing Jane in “In Their Skin”, a home invasion thriller movie starring Selma Blair, Joshua Close, and James D’Arcy. Her TV career also faltered, as she took an eight-year hiatus between 2012 and 2020, when she appeared in an episode of “Chicago Fire”; Rachel’s lengthy absence led to even more rumors of her retirement.
As for Rachel’s theater career, she played Jennifer in the 1994 play “Naked Faith: The Way at Naked Angels in New York”, replaced Missy Yager as Margot Frank in the 1997 Broadway production “The Diary of Anne Frank”, and played Sandy in “Blue Surge”, performing at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and The Public Theater in New York.

These days, Rachel is still active on social media and regularly engages with her thousands of followers. In one of the actress’s most recent Instagram posts, she advocated for the PEN America “Freedom to Read” campaign which aims to fight against the banning of books. In March 2023, she also dedicated her deceased father a sweet post on the third anniversary of his death, sharing plenty of childhood snaps and penning him a heartfelt message.
Rachel has yet to indicate if she is in a relationship or enjoying the single life, as most of her posts are selfies, fan art reposts, or inspirational quotes. The actress is a bookworm who frequently uploads photos of her home library, and lets her followers know what she’s currently reading, hence her work with PEN America; other social causes championed by the “Alice” star include Black Lives Matter and multiple sclerosis awareness.
